Recap: Rays 6 – Yankees 3

Result: The Tampa Bay Rays beat the Yankees 6-3 on Wednesday afternoon.

Need to Know: Vidal Nuno allowed four runs — three earned — over five innings. He let up eight hits, walked two and struck out five. Shawn Kelly and David Huff each surrendered earned runs in their outings.

Brett Gardner led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run. Brian McCann hit a solo home run in the third inning. Gardner later singled in a run in the fourth inning, plating Alfonso Soriano.

Game Ball: Gardner, who continues to play well, despite the Yankees falling below .500.
