Recap: Rangers 4 – Yankees 2

Result: The Yankees fell to the Rangers 4-2 on Monday night in the Bronx.


Need to Know: Shane Greene allowed four runs to score — two were charged to him when Matt Thornton let in his inherited runners. Greene allowed five hits, one walk and struck out five. The Yankees made five errors in the field, though no unearned runs scored.

The Yankees got on the board early, when Carlos Beltran hit a sacrifice fly after Derek Jeter walked, move to second on a balk and, later, to third on an infield single. Jacoby Ellsbury hit a solo home run to lead off the fourth inning for the Yanks other run.


Game Ball: Ellsbury, who went 2-4 with a run and an RBI.
