Need to Know: The Yankees’ slumbering bats woke up in the third inning, tallying nine straight hits and scoring eight runs. Derek Jeter doubled and drove in two runs in the big inning. Jacoby Ellsbury, Martin Prado, Brian McCann and Chase Headley all had two-hit nights. Despite the offensive explosion, the Yankees recorded just two hits the rest of the way. Shane Greene had a solid outing, striking out eight and allowing two runs in seven innings.
