Need to Know: The five runs allowed by Brandon McCarthy were the most the right-hander has allowed since getting traded to the Yankees. Jacoby Ellsbury homered twice to plate the Yanks’ only runs of the game. Carlos Beltran had a two-hit night and Derek Jeter collected a pair of singles in four at-bats.
