July 8: Carlos Beltran said his swollen right knee, which kept him out of Monday’s game, feels better. However, as a precaution, he will be out of the lineup again on Tuesday (Kuty, July 8).
Beltran said he isn’t scheduled to be seen by a doctor for the injury, which he estimated he’s had three or four times in his career.
Carlos Beltran will not be in the starting lineup on Monday night in Cleveland due to swelling in his right knee (Hoch, July 7).
Beltran alerted manager Joe Girardi to the issue prior to the game, and is expected to be examined by Cleveland’s team doctor.
Girardi said he was unsure if Beltran would be available to pinch hit, but downplayed the severity of the knee issue.
Beltran has been relegated to strictly designated hitter duties as of late due to pain in his right elbow.
