    I'm moving back to NY

Just found out today. Normally I would be happy about this, but it comes with a job demotion. I've been managing a hotel up in MA since last March. Although my bosses stressed I did a good job, have a bright future etc....they felt after 7 months that I wasnt fully ready for all the job responsibility, and they want someone running the hotel who has more experience.

So they are transferring me back to the hotel I was working back in NY, and I got my old job back (front office/assistant manager). Really bummed out about it, but not much I can do. At least I got some experience and will get another chance sometime soon.

But at least I'll be back in NY

Sorry to hear that. And it is true, any and all experience does nothing but help you in the future. Best of luck.

Sorry it didn't work out in MA, but welcome back to NYC. We will be glad to have you (the first cab splashing muddy rain water on you will affirm this ). You are going to have to change the user title back!

Remember Mickey Mantle wanted to quit when he got sent down. He honed his skills and wound up in the Hall of Fame. Come back, hone your skills and you'll be running the company.
    Good luck.

I refuse to change it. In Florida, aka Hell. If I don't get out of this place soon I'm going to go crazy.

    Hey bud,
I'm sorry your going for back for the reason you don't want... but at least your going back to the city I would die to be in right now. Just think it that way... it's New York.

Looking from the outside, it appears to me like they're still grooming you to be a hotel manager. In which case, I say, "Congratulations!" This way, you'll be able to build up your exceptional skills and be a lot closer to the greatest baseball team in the universe.

It could have been a lot worse.

Sorry about the demotion, but like everyone else said, you will be gaining more experience and another opportunity will surely arise.

Good luck. When is the big move?

The job situation is well offset by the fact that you are going to be in NY.

    Welcome back to the area!
