Thanks so much, and those cakes look amazing!
I'm just trying to figure out where you get pans for a tiered three layer cake, and whether I have to put in wooden stakes or something to keep the superstructure vertical, and stuff like that.

For the pans and most other equipment: Smart and Final(or any restaurant supply store), Also Michael's Craft store sells lots of cake equipment.
You may want to ask any bakeries in the area is they sell cake supplies also. I have an easy way to stack tiers using regular plastic straws, and for 3 tiers you can really decorate beautifully.

So are you guys control freaks or what.![]()
Guess who was back last night.![]()
Advice needed on sports bras fot the girl-she need one because her basketball uniform is a tank top.
Any suggestions-obviously she is 9 and has next to nothing that needs support, so price is my main issue.

Yes, I think some of us are control freaks.Originally Posted by Pepper03

Sports bra for a 9 year old....I just buy the ones at Target for my daughter. Or Sports Authority/Dicks/Modells, etc since you don't need the heavy duty ones.

What is it with men and dessert-variety pie? Nearly all the men I know prefer pie to cake, while the women are the opposite.
My husband, who is spoiled rotten by my mother, gets a pie of his choice baked for him each month by her. It's his birthday present, but still. My BIL and my nephews both eschew birthday cake for birthday pie (and coconut cream pie at that. Yikes.)
I think George was talking about another kind of pie. But I'm sure he likes the regular variety as wellOriginally Posted by Hildy910

Sports bras for kids, depending on her size, try a small ladies 30-32, I usually get my daughter's at Target or Wal-Mart. Wal Mart has a great selection, and all kidns of levels of support. They sell them in the girls department also, but those were too small for my daughter (who, as her pediatrician says, sure lost the genetic lottery when it comes to body type -- needless to say, even the cats aren't thin in our house!)
As to George and his preferences for pie vs. cake , does he have some sort of alarm on his computer, in addition to the bat signal, that when certain words come up (I probably set the alarm off already) he gets some sort of electronic signal to make one of his "georgian" comments??

I am looking for a recipe for an old-fashioned birthday cake. Does anyone remember when bakeries used to sell a large (probably 5 inches high x 8 or 10) one layer dense birthday cake, before they all started using premade mixes and everything was layer cakes? It was similar to a pound cake, but not quite as dense and sweeter??Originally Posted by 46andygirl

There are certain products out on the market that can help solve that problem. I saw them last night with my own eyes.Originally Posted by #1PaFan

Men on top, no, no, although the Patriots lost, I still cannot allow the Men on Top!
Congrats Colts Fans, your team really deserves to be in the Superbowl. Kind of reminded me of 2004 ALCS, lot shorter, but similar Karma.

You gave me a much needed little smile this morning.Originally Posted by Paiglee

I will watch if I am not busy consoling Tom Brady or something, but obviously not with much interest. I do love the commercials.
Also, I was a happy woman, as I do not have to host the SuperBowl party for my husband's football group - sort of like a book club, with no reading, and lots of liquor.
I cannot root for the Bears, I still remember 1986, boy what a lousy year, Pats humiliated in January and Sox in World Series---same year.
I actually felt badly for Manning when Assante Samuel scored the touchdown, but then, they did that Vulcan Mind Meld transfer at Halftime, and the Colts became the Pats and vice versa, likke a really bad freaky friday ESPN movie!

Yeah, it was very amusing getting a lecture from Mike "Mr. Class" Ditka last week, after the crap his team used to pull, including letting the "Refridgerator" score a TD when the Pats were already being humiliated, or the Super Bowl Shuffle recorded before the SB, or some of the other stuff they pulled.Originally Posted by Paiglee

. I watched a few minutes of the game yesterday and then turned it off with about 4 minutes to go (tells ya how much I really cared about the outcome).
I just have been unable to get into football and I used to be a complete coach potato on Sundays, watching whatever game was on.
I haven't even watched the SuperBowl in years ... not even for the commercials.
On another note - anyone been to Aruba?
I'm going in March - we decided against All-Inclusive, b/c I am told that the restaurants are pretty good.
Anyone who has been there have any recommendations?

Good afternoon/evening to all....Someone was showing the love to Peyton Manning last night and blessed him with his first Super Bowl....I was a happy girl last night!
Party time and then a matter of days until pitchers and catchers report!
BTW, Thank you to everyone for the super nice cake decorating compliments. What an ego-boost!

It's Sox-related, but I thought the Yankees might have a similar thing. Then again, that is in New York, where there are other more exciting things going on than a truck being loaded. We have to take what we can get up here in the provinces.
My wife celebrates truck day nearly everyday. The UPS guy drives up to the house and there is a celebration.
