Interesting theory. Makes a whole lot of sense, actually. I was thinking maybe there was a Hero who could do something like disintegrate pulled him back from death (so it looked like he fell over the side of that cliff but really someone saved him).

I totally wasn't expected Hiro's dad in that scene, even after seeing his name (thought it would be in another scene with Hiro -- interesting how this was the first episode that didn't follow several parallel subplots at once) -- though I did know he was pretty significant, because I heard he's supposed to develop more in the projected season 2.

I'm starting to wonder about Lyle (Clare's brother)'s story, too. The Bennetts had trouble conceiving before they adopted Clare; maybe Lyle's adopted and being "hidden", too? (And that's who Mr. Bennett meant when talking about "hiding" someone at the end -- because I was really confused with Mr. Nakamura handing over Clare as a baby and discussing her potential abilities in plain sight of the company.)

Whatever happen to Wireless Woman who went with Ted and Parkman to corner Mr. Bennett? Wasn't she in that scene the week before, as well?

I guess Bennett wasn't such a bad guy after all, but now that he's had the Haitian erase any memory he had of Claire, he won't have the emotional attachments that made him humane.

I never thought Mr. Bennett was "bad", per se, just that he acted in what he thought were everyone's best interests. And if that involved crossing the morality line sometimes, so be it.

And I'm betting that a lot of what he had the Hatian do to him was for show. He probably left the essentials.

I thought Mr. Bennett was always holding back emotionally anyway (now we know it's because he knew that Claire could be taken back by the "Company" at any time), so I'm not sure how much different he'd be now.

I'm waiting to see Mr. Linderman next week - he's involved in everyone's story and it should be interesting.

The Hatiian told Mr Bennett that he didn't erase Claire's memory because he was listening to someone else in Claire's life. Any idea who it is? I'm thinking it's Nathan even though it doesn't make a lot of sense with what we know now. I can't think of anyone else in her life who would make sense.

Mr. Bennett's new partner has a very impressive power. I'm sure that will lead to some interesting situations in the future.

    She's impressive alright.

But isn't she the one that teamed up with Parkman and the Radioactive Guy?

That's what I said - I am not happy at all!

In the meantime, that was a really good episode and I even felt a little bad for Mr. Bennett after he thought he could talk to his wife but it wasn't her.

Heroes has been on fire the last month or so. It's clearly the new "LOST".

Lost: Hurley finds a bus. THAT'S ALL.
Heroes: Mohinder confronts Silar, Silar tries to kill Nathan, Mr. Bennett gets caught, Hiro gets his sword, and we meet Linderman.

    Seriously, it's no contest anymore.

I'm sad it will be gone until late april, but this show is worth it.

one question: Mohinder had put some sort of poison in Sylar that would prevent him from using his powers. But then Sylar used his telekenesis power to turn off the IV drip. Why did that power work? Am I missing something?

I'm thinking since Mohinder was so wrapped up in his work and wasn't paying attention to Sylar it allowed him the time to focus enough to be able to do something small like turn off the IV drip.

Yeah. That seems to be inconsistent.

I really like the show. But there seems to be some inconsistencies and things that don't make sense. Like why did Hiro loose his powers, and why does he need to have the sword to get them back. That doesn't really make sense.

New episode tonight, only four left this season. The new commercials have looked interesting, can't wait to see how the Sylar - Peter confrontation plays out.

Really? You expected more? I don't know how much more they could have done in an hour! I LOVE this show. I don't generally get too excited over TV shows but I really like how different it is.

Well, one thing didn't make sense.

Claire was saved in the future, she didn't really die. So why did New York still blow up?

Also, Peter's powers were awesome when he had full control and knowledge in the future but why was his voice all deep, it just sounded like he was putting on a tough guy voice.

I agree, tonight's show was excellent. I wasn't sure what to expect based on the previews from last week, but I thought they did a great job. It was quite a shock to see President Sylar - he obviously met with the chameleon who works for Eric roberts.

My only complaint is that my DVR stopped a minute early. The last thing I saw was sylar and Peter fighting and Hiro saying he couldn't teleport back. I assume the show ended with them teleporting back as the room was about to explode?

Same thing happened to me! Frustrating. I'll probably check out the last couple of minutes online today. They usually post the complete episode the next day on nbc.com.

I think that future Hiro thinks that Sylar blew up NY and that if he could do that and survive then he must have Claire's power. So he goes back and tells himself to save the cheerleader. However it was actually Peter who blows up NY and he already has Claire's power. Does that make sense? Now they have to figure out how to stop Peter from doing it, I guess.

These past couple of episodes have been fantastic! I don't want the season to end.

I thought the other heroes assumed Sylar had died in the explosion so he wouldn't have had Claire's powers.

It's interesting to see how many powers Peter and Sylar had, of course with Sylar you know he had to kill all those people to get them.

I can't wait for the final three episodes.

    Re: Heroes Season 1 Thread

Why hasn't this thread had any comments since 5/3? Isn't anyone still watching?

I just watched Monday's episode last night, and all I can say is 'wow'. I can't wait until next week.

I can't believe that last fall when I heard about this show I laughed it off and thought it was ridiculous and would never last. I watched the second episode (missed the first since there were other premieres that night I wanted to watch/record), and began growing some interest. Watched the third episode, and I was hooked. Haven't missed an ep since . And just when I think that they've outdone themselves, the next episode comes along and it's even better.

This show is great on so many levels...
    • The storylines are fantastic, and the plot is obviously well thought-out.
    • I'm typically not a huge fan of green screen and CGI - in fact, I tend to loathe it; but the visual effects are incredible (the scene w/ Peter & Sylar in Suresh's apt. w/ all the broken glass pieces left me speechless).
    • The characters are so deep, and the actors that play them are fantastic
    • There is so much detail put into every little thing - everything means something; there's no wasted scenes or dialogs - All of Isaac's artwork is so impressive
    • The camera work really makes you feel what the characters are feeling; the camera angles they use aren't typically used on primetime TV
    • The post-production is awesome too, with the varying tints and splicing
    • The dialog is rich and deep
I could go on, and on, and on... this show is just so friggin' good. My only concern is that next year they won't be able to live up to this year (umm, Lost anyone?).

So what are everyone's thoughts on the last few episodes going into the finale next week?

I've been on vacation so I just watched the last two episodes over the last two nights and WOW!

I think I've pieced together what Linderman has been doing (Micah, Molly, etc.)

This may be an off-the wall comment, but, for a series about heroes with extraordinary abilities, the most heroic of them all is shaping up to be Ando, who is doing his thing al fresco so to speak.

I'll be TIVOing tomorrow for certain.

Loved the finale, especially how hiro is all the way back in 1671 at the end.

Some of you may not believe me, but as good as this finale was, it wasn't close to how good LOST's finale will be in 2 days, trust me on this (and yes, this is an "I know something that you don't" situation)

Actually, as far as finales go, I thought this one was 'meh'. It was good, but nothing like what I was expecting. Nothing was really a surprise. In fact, wasn't Nathan taking Peter up into 'space' to explode featured in an earlier episode? Or maybe it was just a theory I had read somewhere at some point. Either way, none of it really surprised me, except for the scene w/ Mr. Devereux (sp?) and the Hiro in the field scene.

Some more thoughts (if anyone is still reading this thread!) - where was the haitian dude? Wouldn't he have been able to stop Sylar or Peter or whoever exploded? We haven't seen him since Claire ditched him.

Was the Japanese knight at the end Hiro's father?

I believe that was his father so I guess his power is immortality - sort of like Highlander. I thought the ending was pretty cool.

What happened to Sylar? It looked like Hiro killed him but I'm not so sure. Did he crawl away or get dragged away or did he somehow manage to kill Claude offscreen and take his invisibility power? What was all that blood on the floor of Isaac's loft? It looked like fresh blood so I don't think it was Isaac's. If the blood was fresh, who did Sylar kill?

I guess I'll have to wait until next season to find out.

I think you might be referring to Uluru...Here's some info I found on him from another board.

Thought this was pretty interesting...looks like Origins will introduce some new Heroes, bringing next season to a total of 30 episodes.

And, for those of you that can't wait, here are some possible Spoilers for Season 2.

The Haitian man worked for Mrs. Petrelli and since she wanted the bomb to explode she kept him away.

Seeing how Peter could fly, why couldn't Peter fly away himself? Why even involve Nathan?

I watched the last 10 minutes of the finale again, and the more I think about it the more I think Sylar is dead. I think someone/thing came out of the sewer and dragged him back in. A long shot I know, but that's my gut feeling.

I think that's probably right. He recently started being able to master all of his powers but when he came in contact with Sylar, I believe all the new powers he absorbed were just too much for him to handle all at once.

Yeah, I'm thinking the new uber-bad-guy that Molly is afraid of is the one that dragged Siler away. Maybe to revive him, maybe to steal his powers, or maybe just to keep the Heroes or the Agency from getting him...

And, why didn't Nathan just let Claire shoot him? If she had, there'd be one dead Petrelli, and it wouldn't be him.

    I'm so confused.

Either way, none of it really surprised me, except for the scene w/ Mr. Devereux (sp?) and the Hiro in the field scene.
Yeah, I agree. I felt like there was all this buildup for something amazing to happen and it (no pun intended) just sort of petered out. I didn't come away with this "oh my god, this show rocks!" feeling that I came away with the last several episodes. A lot of the impact just sort of felt lost, and it was a bit of a letdown.

Did anyone get what Nathan meant, "You saved the cheerleader so WE could save the world?" What did saving Claire have to do with their sacrifice?

And why did it take place at night when Peter's dream midseason about him exploding was clearly during the day?
