I haven't watched this show, but the trailer kind of reminds me of the 4400. Am I the only one?

What do you guys think the cheerleaders father is going to do with her? Is he the one that is going to do her harm? He seems to me like he has plans of his own for her.

I frakking adore this show. I haven't been this psyched about a show since early days Buffy.
And I think that her dad is a shadowy government type with few morals but who will not hurt his daughter.
I'm also wondering if Sylar is like Peter in that he can soak up other Heros' abilities, but that he can keep them permanently.

This show is so great. I was still wondering a little about Peter but now it's clear that he takes on other people's powers when he's around them. I wonder what he'll be able to do when they're all together in one room?

    Re: Heroes Season 1 Thread

Guys, I tivo'd last night's episode. It is the first episode I have tivo'd (I only tivo'd it since you guys seem to be loving the show). If I start watching from last night, will I have any idea what's going on? Will I be able to catch on after a few weeks? Is there a website where I can get an episode breakdown of the first few episodes?

    thanks in advance,
    Seymour

Rats! They just ran a marathon of all the episodes on Sunday. You can also try
www.televisionwithoutpity.com, which I believe is recapping this show.

I know the show is considered a smash hit this season, but not sure where it falls in the rankings. I would guess fairly high as I believe I saw that it had 23 million viewers one week.

    From what I can guess...

He can "borrow" the powers of those he's around. He doesn't need physical contact, just close enough to be in the proximity.

Can someone tell me what happened at the very end of Heroes this week? My DVR cut off just as Eden knocked on Isaac the painters door. What happened?

    Highlight as its a spoiler...

The stripper and her husband fought over the briefcase. He pushed his hand into her abdomen as if it were non-corporeal and oulled it out. He left with the kid with her either dead or unconscious on the floor.

Actually I would think he could run through things like Ali Larter's husband, but your right he would run into things. And yes IMO it is a superpower.

I was disappointed by this last episode. I plan to continue watching it, just to find out how it progresses but there are a few things that are starting to bug me...

Ali Larter is hot but her character is lame - she seems to have more of a bad case of multiple personality disorder than a superpower... the show is moving much too slowly - it's probably trying to be "Lost-like" in that way, but what Lost has that Heroes doesn't is strong character development - I find myself getting bored at times b/c the plot's unfolding so slowly and the character's are so uninteresting and generally unlikable (except for Hiro, who actually has a personality). Some of the acting is pretty awful too.

I think I'm jumping ship. The show just seems to be spinning its wheels, and now they're introducing new characters when they probably have too many to begin with.

Really? I think the show is revealing more information than Lost originally did.

    Good episode today I thought.

I didn't think he knew about his mother's "other side" but they showed that he does when he was talking to Niki's alter on the phone.

Thanks to TiVo, I haven't jumped yet. I agree that I was expecting more from the last episode. Just seems like there is so much going on without it all really being developed.

Radioactive man was interesting. I have noticed there are two symbols, the first one is the "s" with the two flat line, and the other on looks like a quotation mark " and it was on the neck of the mindreader.

    Wonder what their meanings are?

I am still enjoying it. I dunno about radioactive man - I'm trying to figure out if he killed his wife by exposure to radiation or if he could have saved her by giving her radiation treatments, but who knows.

I imagined it being from exposure, similar to those who live to close to power lines that emit radioactivity.

I didn't like Niki's husband at first but it looks like he's turning out to be one of the good guys.

Is it possible the Sylar is sucking the brains out of the "Heroes" because he can gain their powers?

That would make sense as to why the cheerleader holds the key. If he takes the brain of the "radioactive" guy and the cheerleader he could end kill everyone using a nuclear explosion and then use her power to survive it.

I thought last night was pretty interesting.

That makes sense, especially considering the explosion that is going to happen in the future.

I guess they were trying to make Mr. Bennett look like more of a good guy, but I still don't know...

Boo has an interesting theory about Sylar - I've been trying to figure out why and how Claire needs saving - she's pretty able to save herself.

I hope Hiro is able to divert Memory Chick without getting lost with her - at the end, did that look like a New Year's party in the picture of them on the wall of the diner? I said yes and JP thought it was a birthday. We shall see, but they are really cute together, so I hope she gets to tag along. Also, JP noticed this one: remember when Hiro meets Peter in the future, he speaks perfect English? Well, as he was talking to the waitress last night, not only was she showing her amazing grasp of Japanese, apparently his English was improving. Hmmmm.....

Hmmmm.....
and since we don't know how long he's gone with her, I wouldn't be surprised if his English is a thousand times better when he comes back.
