    Heroes Season 1 Thread

Did anyone watch this show tonight? I thought it was pretty cool, so cool that it deserved it's own thread. Here is a preview of the trailer for the show that I found on YouTube:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P59uibMZHgA

If you didn't get to catch the season premier you can still catch it:

    Heroes - Pilot, NBC Sep 26 08:00pm
    Heroes - Pilot, SCIFI Sep 29 07:00pm
    Heroes, SCIFI Sep 29 07:00pm
    Heroes - Pilot, USA Oct 02 11:05pm
    Heroes - Pilot, USA Oct 02 11:05pm

The show has an X-Men feel too it but to be honest with you it seems like the show will be better than the past two X movies.

For those that saw the show what exactly is Ali Larter's superpower?

I liked it. Not jumping on board completely yet, but the show has earned itself another week in our household. This first episode didnt have much plot, but I understand that they needed to introduce the characters before anything can get going.

    Looking forward to next week.

decent so far... although the writing could be better. Character development needs to improve. The only character so far who seems to have any personality is the Japanese guy.

I'm having trouble with that too. The only thing I can figure out, is that she is able to somehow manipulate time, or she is able to see into the future and react. There was one part, when she was lookng for her kid, and she zipped out of the room, but her image was still standing in the mirror, slightly delayed.

...but I don't know why she saw an image of herself in the mirror that seemed kinda' mean or evil...

but I'm watching it...I saw the whole episode on Yahoo about a week and a half ago.

I also saw Jericho about a week ahead on Yahoo. I liked that too.

Which makes me wonder if they are going to break into good and evil groups.

I loved the pilot but I'm still unsure if I'll like the show as it continues, if that makes any sense. I'll probably watch it anyways though.

That's the first thing i thought of when I saw it was on Mondays.

It wasn't bad. I would think Ali Larter's character just has split personality disorder before a superpower.

It has a good premise and could be a very interesting show as it develops. My only concern is that they are now focusing on at least six or seven characters with developing superpowers. That may be too many for viewers, like me, to follow. Let's see how they handle the next several shows.

On another fromt I really can't believe that they have enough material for the show Jericho to sustain interest for a full 13 week season.

She seems to be able to get her "alter ego"(?) to fulfill her unexpressed wishes. For ex: when she was assaulted by those thugs, they ended up dead. In the last episode, she needed to clean up the dead bodies and get rid of them and lo and behold, she finds her garage cleaned up and dead bodies in the trunk of a sweet ride... although none of this explains how she couldn't account for the time when she was several hours late picking up her son.

I think she blacks out while her "alter ego" does her work for her. She blacked out and the "alter ego" kicked those thugs asses. She blacked out in the car and her "alter ego" cleaned up the mess and put the bodies in the trunk.

Interesting thought... but she didn't seem to black out to do that. Maybe her alter ego has killed previously?

So it seems like the cheerleader was dead, but when the stick got pulled out of her neck, she regained her senses. Is it possible for her to die?

That's what I thought, that she has an alter ego that's capable of big-time violence. Kind of like the Hulk, only not green.

I've always been a big fan of the X-Men so I've been watching this show figuring I would like it. So far it's okay, but I've not been pulled in as much as I thought I would be.

I believe they can die if their brains are destroyed or removed. In the scene with the little girl hiding behind the wall, it looked like her father or whoever that was had his head split open and his brain removed just like the artist guy's head was split open and his brain was removed when Hiro had the premonition in his apartment. My guess is the cheerleader appeared dead and maybe was for a while because the stick was jammed into her brain.

I'm assuming the bad guy will go around trying to remove the brains of everyone with superpowers in order to kill them.

I don't know...but it was pretty funny to watch him fall off the monkey bars over and over.

Maybe he hasn't yet learned how to do it yet. I don't know.

This past episode kind of sucked. I liked the first two but this past one didn't impress me. I hope it gets better. I'll stick with it.

I'm the opposite, I was iffy on the first 2, but yesterday's was awesome. Now that there's a bad guy and the characters are starting to come together, it seems much more interesting. The only problem is that the episodes seem too short, even though they're an hour (well, 40 minutes). Must be because of the large amount of characters.

My wife and I have really enjoyed the show so far. I thought that the cheerleader can only heal if the object was removed, but now that I think about it, whoever brought up the brain thing might be right. I think Hiro is going to be the best of the group. I noticed right away that his name is basically the name of the show.

    I agree 100%.

Pretty cool to see Hiro with a huge Samurai sword.

It was cool to see Hiro's bad@$$ futuristic self, but I am concerned that overdoing the time travel aspect will make the show somewhat cheesy, sorta like what the Terminator franchise became. I mean, couldn't futuristic Hiro, knowing what he already knows just go back in time and fix everything?

Time travel has to be dealt with like they did in Star Trek: The Next Generation -- hold off until you have a "very special episode."

That said, the future Hiro simply confirmed that the world doesn't end in the nuclear blast. But it's not like we didn't realize that from the beginning.

This show is getting more & more compelling.

A pretty intresting theory is that Sylar is actually Peter from the future, only he permanently has all the superpowers and turned evil. Then Hiro returned to this time to change the circumstances of Peter's turn to the dark side.

I guess that makes sense and his brother, Nathan, can fly without Peter being there as we saw in the previews for next Monday's show.
