I read about this on another thread earlier today. Cool story. I might go watch this just because of that.
But then again, I might also watch Everyone's Hero just because it has Babe Ruth...![]()

Glad to see he didn't pull a Billy Crystal
.

Way to go Jack, he is big enough to choose his own cap and he took it to his advantage. Way to not sell out.

I remember reading a long time ago that Nicholson was a big Yankee fan. You've got to remember he grew up in Jersey during their hey day when playing in the WS was a formality.
That is awesome. Jack is in charge and he knows it.
Hoping Rivera can pitch forever!
Fire Thomson now!!!
nice move Jack ... way to stay loyal
Nice..... good job Jack.
Mini Putt My record is 20
I STILL support A-Rod
A-Rod's 2010 Season: .325, 63 HR, 164 RBI
My prediction for Javier Jazquez in 2010: 12-10, 4.84
I will gladly eat my words if I am way off.
Nothing like a Yankee/Laker fan... someone after my own heart. Is he a Vikings fan too?

My sister and her husband and my father were at Shea for the Yankee clincher in the 2000 World Series. Jack Nicholson was sitting two rows away from her. She said that he was jumping up and down cheering for the Yankees the entire game.Originally Posted by Yankees1962

Nice Jack
Personally I think this is pretty weak if true. The guy's an actor, he's supposed to inhabit a role, not balk because the character is different from him personally. Besides, he's a criminal, he should be wearing a Sox hat.

Good for you Jack!Director Martin Scorsese suggested the movie legend wear a Boston Red Sox cap for one pivotal scene, but backed down when New Yorker Nicholson insisted he wouldn't wear the head gear out of loyalty to the Yankees.
Instead, the star dons a Yankees cap in the scene, according to magazine Sports Illustrated.![]()

Kudos to Nicholson if he really is a true Yankee fan... But, he's always come across to me as somewhat of a bandwagon jumper. I seemed to remember that he would attend Knicks' games back in the Riley era and then once that was over, he returned to LA.
He's not just an actor. He's the man. He can do what he wants. i would do the same in his situation.Originally Posted by Mr. Mxylsplk

If he's from Jersey, why is he a Lakers fan?

September 28, 2008 - the day the HOF got a wake-up Moose call.
Reminds of the story about the Affleck character in Paycheck. The way it was originally written, the character wore a Mets cap but once Affleck signed on, it was changed to a Red Sox cap.

Grew up watching the Yanks, so.. theres your Yankee fan credentials.Originally Posted by jlw1980

He's obviously a front runner basketball fan. Plus, who else is he going to be a fan of, the Knicks? Knicks fans barely want to admit they're Knicks fans nowadays.Originally Posted by jlw1980

Can someone instruct me as to how to start a new Thread?
I just heard that Jack Nicholson (the great actor) has stated that he refuses to wear a Red Sock Cap in a film he's doing.
I'd also need a little guidance as to the proper Forum as to where to start said Thread.

I recall Fox (GOD I HATE THEM) showing him on one of the playoff games. Why they do it, its pointless. Does anyone remember who they showed during the 2003 WS in the middle of the game and simply stopped showing the game? I think someone called a person who was in the suite and told him to get off so they could show the game.Originally Posted by houstonnewyawka

FWIW, this is Crystal's explanation:Originally Posted by BostonYankeeBoy

At the time, Crystal approached the Yankees to do Comic Relief Night at Yankee Stadium. Comic Relief was created by Crystal and fellow comedians Robin Williams and Whoopi Goldberg in an effort to raise money for America's homeless. The Yankees turned down the request, but the Mets did not. The Mets donated a large sum of money to Comic Relief and let the three comedians come out to Shea Stadium.
"We made a lot of money for the charity," said Crystal. "I said, 'You know what? I am going to wear this hat for them because they did this for a great cause.' And that's why I wore the Mets hat in that movie."
Wow, that's cool. It's sad that the Yankees wouldn't let them use The Stadium for that.Originally Posted by Liquid Sky

The Yankees had a reason, as I recall. They eventually DID have Comic Relief Night at Yankee Stadium with the three of them, which I was at. I still have the fake nose and glasses they gave out that night!Originally Posted by jlw1980

That's very cool of Jack. I love him even more now. And "out of loyalty to the Yankees" that's BIG.
I'd like some help too. I heard that David Ortiz made some comments about Jeter not deserving the MVP or something like that. I think there needs to be a thread about it.Originally Posted by JDPNYY
