I hope after this game the Yanks DFA Ponson. The guy serves no purpose on this team. He is horrible.

A horrible acquisition. Cash didn't do his job on that one.
I won't blame Cashman too much on this one. He thought he might be able to catch lightning in a bottle with him. But now its time to end the experiment. He's been given enough chances and he has failed horribly.Originally Posted by lewbie

He'll be DFA'd to open a spot tonight.
One half-way decent game and a bunch of duds. This guy has got to go.
I agree. The experiment is over.
Never left the Betances bandwagon.
Signed. The guy is drek. Thanks for the semi-good game against Seattle Sidney, now get out of here IMMEDIATELY.

After tonight's outing, I agree, it's time to end this experiment.

Veras can't be brought up for another week or so (10 days since he went down) unless Ponson gets disabled, not designated.Originally Posted by Yankeeah
Regardless, they're carrying 13 pitchers for the double header, so you could see a position player.
It'll be 12 if Ponson is designated for assignment.
Get him out of here. He's so out of shape.
Echo!
Get his fat ice cream eating A#S out of here. Please

I smell a Bubba sighting forthcoming.

He's still crappy. That aspect of his game is never going to change.Originally Posted by longtimeyankeefan

BTW - I will bet money that Bubba is on the bench before KT. I am not saying it makes sense, nor that I even agree with the move - but I certainly think even Vegas would set the odds in favor of Bubba.

Ponson sure lived up to all my expectations before this game.
Good Lord get rid of this man already. He is a has-been. And he was a "been" for one fluke year. I can't wait to see him off this team.

DFA him as soon as this one is over and get another arm up here asap.

They probably will to add another arm because of the taxed pen.
Yep... the Yanks need to do the same thing with Ponson that the Sox did with Johnson. He has been given his chances and failed. And, we need another pen arm for the weekend.Originally Posted by NyyNjnNyg

Someone please put Ponson on Kevin Brown's lawn.
Agreed. Cashman at least tried.
I definitely agree with DFA'ing Ponson. You give the guy 7 runs and he can't even hold that lead. But when we ship him out, we'll have 12 pitchers, I think.
Beam, Bruney, Dotel, Farnsworth, R. Johnson, (Lidle), Mussina, Myers, Proctor, Rivera, Villone, Wang and Wright. What about Darrell Rasner? Is he still hurt? I still think we could use another reliever while Lidle is away on beareavement, but who???????
Congrats are in order to the 2009 WS Champion Yankees. Let's keep it going!
Aaron Small, Jesus Colome, Ramiro Mendoza maybe?
Time for Colome!Originally Posted by NyyNjnNyg

he's like the hideki irabu of aruba
They need an extra arm for the series and they'll DFA him, but I have a feeling he'll clear waivers and go to Columbus. We'll see him back up here after the series until Pavano returns.
I really don't think he would report to AAA. The only place Ponson is going after the Yankees release him is the buffet at the Sizzler.Originally Posted by conkermaniac

Come to Jesus!!!
Lets swap ponson and johnson
Had he gone 5 innings, given up 4 runs, I'd have said there may be hope. However, if this is how he performs against good competition, which he'd definitely be doing from here onward, and expected to perform at a top level, I'd say it's not worth it.
I wanted him to succeed, but since he hasn't, he's gotta go.

Release Ponsonut.

I echo what everyone has said. This guy needs to go. His team outs up 7 runs and he couldn't do squat.
He has to go, another arm will be brought in for the pen.
