btw the reaction elsewhere is rather strange... almost no posts at all, anywhere in the whole site... except their new GT is speculating that beaning one of us might be necessary:

Ya'know, part of the reason I LOVED today's game, we all got to watch the RSox fans be completely miserable. That was just as good as the game

I'm actually okay with it, being a Broncos fan.

Anyways, let's find a way to win tonight, be it a surprising outing from Ponson, an offensive explosion on the rookie and sox pen or some combination of the two.
I have to return some videotapes.

wouldn't mind an appearance by Keith Foulke either that resulted in him being sent back to Pawphuket

That's exactly what i was thinking, esp after reading the NYT article yesterday, I'm very thankful The Boss has managed to allow a transition which sounds like it's already complete to avoid exactly what's happened with the Raiders....

    Re: Yankees@Red Sox GAME 2, August 18th, 2006

    Hello everybody!

Once again, I'm calling on the spirit of Admiral David Farragut (the first US Admiral) for the nightcap.

    Quote:
On August 5, 1864, Farragut won a great victory in the Battle of Mobile Bay. Mobile, Alabama, at the time was the Confederacy's last major port open on the Gulf of Mexico. The bay was heavily mined (tethered naval mines were known as torpedoes at the time). Farragut ordered his fleet to charge the bay. When the monitor USS Tecumseh struck a mine and sank the others began to pull back. According to legend, Farragut (who was lashed to the rigging of his flagship the USS Hartford) shouted down the order, "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!" The bulk of the fleet succeeded in entering the bay.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Farragut

I am home. The game is on MLBEI. The GF is going to her parents for the evening. I got beer on the way from work.
    Go Yankees!

Thats a valid question but the reason for it is that I have experienced some bad luck when trying to overwork an avatar. I want my avatars fresh and ready when the call to the avatar pen is made.

I entered the GT forum this morning hoping to see the thread started by you, once it was, I knew we were okay. We're asking alot of you taking the ball for both games of a double header but I know you're up for it.

LOL those who can get NESN now are seeing Jack Welsh (former CEO of GE) who they often have on as a 'typical fan' (yeah a typical multimillionaire fan who used to run a Network...) but he's semi-senile and wildly outspoken... trashing Johnson and semi-trashing Franconia (you see how Torre pulled his pitchers....)

Going into this game, I'm really not expecting anything. I'm expecting Ponson to get rocked, I think the offense can score, but not enough.

    Speaking of lineups:

    YANKEES
    Damon CF
    Jeter SS
    Abreu DH
    Rodriguez 3B
    Cano 2B
    Wilson 1B
    Williams RF
    Fasano C
    Cabrera LF

    Ponson P

    BOSTON
    Youkilis 3B
    Loretta 2B
    Ortiz DH
    Ramirez LF
    Hinske 1B
    Pena RF
    Crisp CF
    Mirabelli C
    Cora SS

    Lester P

that's just his management style. What was the name of his book again?

NEVERMIND: I see it above, although I think it should be Winning Through Intimidation

Don't like that Sox lineup/order. I hope they lose and Francoma doesn't use it again.

Front page of CBS Sportsline MLB:

"Thanks to an A-Rod-led rally in the seventh, the Yankees win 12-4 in the first game of a doubleheader at Fenway Park."

Wow, actual props to ARod, you can tell that's not ESPN.

At one time their financial companies were the most profitable. They had a Life Insurance Co; Puritain Life... I came on board as an Associate Counsel, they were expanding their legal dept like crazy. After i got there I found out why: 80% of the stuff they had sold in the past 3 years was sold without regard to umm state laws... they were being sued by 20 state insurance departments.... I left in 6 months... Puritain Life was gone a year later....
