Mine is a mix of 2 and 3. I would NEVER want to trade him because I still think he's a great player and trading a future HOF'er like him is ridiculous. However, I think it may be inevitable that he eventually will be traded from here. Not saying it's going to be this year, but I just have a hard time thinking he's going to remain here for good.

I think i figured out why Arod is in such an apocalyptic slump, He doesn't have the kind of backup like he did at the end of last year. What i am trying to say is that i think that he gets so nervous in pressure situations with runners on or something like that because he doesn't have the type of hitters to make people forget about his strikeout or watever in those situations. Like if we have sheff and hideki back and have Giambi and Matsui hitting behind Arod, i don't think he would get to afraid of having to carry the team on his back because he has such great hitters helping him out behind and infront of him and he doesn't exactly have the hitters behind him to get the go ahead hit that Arod couldn't get in pressure situations. Just a thought.

For Alex to play on any other team would mean a complete waste of his talents, not to mention playing 162 games that would be the equivalent of six months of mental masterbation, i.e., a complete waste of time. i am pretty sure "in a heartbeat" people are the fans from other teams or just the fickle fans who dont understand nothing about baseball and just show off around saying they are the yankee fans when yankees are winning . I am pretty sure real fans who have seen the ups and downs of the game of baseball for years , who have seen the lean years of yankee dynasty , who understand how difficult its to get to the playoffs each and every year , will vote "no way" . I am just surprised with all the threads in this forum about trading A-Rod , or how Mussina threw him under the bus , or Jeter or other teammates dont go along with A-Rod . Its just such a shame people dont appreciate the team yankees have and with all the injuries , yankees are still in hunt . Some fans just take it for granted that yankees win every game , every player hit 300 , no one is allowed to make errors , no pitcher is allowed to have a bad game or two .
I love Yankees and I wish they win the world series but sometimes I think if Yankees dont make playoffs for 3-4 years , atleast it will rid of the phony yankee fans .

This is how we weed out the true and blue Yankee fans from the johnny-come-latelys. Remember the "dark" years between '79 thru '95 without any WS wins? I bet I was the only kid I knew who went around wearing Yankee apparel. Then all of a sudden, between '96 and '00, they win four WS, and everybody and their brother is wearing Yankees stuff. You go up to these guys - or ladies - and half of them won't know who they played last night.

I am in no way trying to sound like some sort of elitist - there are plenty who know more about the history and stats of the team than I do. All I'm saying is I live and breathe the New York Yankees. You mention one of their players or show me a highlight of one of their games on the tube and my heart rate goes through the roof. I can be sitting here online reading about last nights game or going through the box score, my wife can come in to ask me something and she might as well be talking to the back of a brick wall (she's a fan, also, so it's all good ).

Jered Weaver, Bradon Wood and Scott Shields. Young pitcher with Ace upside. Very promising bat in Brandon Wood, and a very valuable bullpen guy.

I'm not saying I'd go looking, but if a drunken Bowden called and offered Zimmerman, Soriano, Cordero, and a prospect, he'd have my attention.

I would do both those trades for Arod. Those trades give the Yankees more depth, make the Yankees younger, cheaper, and probably better.

I never loathed Johnny when he was in Boston. I hated what he did against the Yankees, but I didn't hate him as a player. In fact, I kind of liked him. He was one of the few Red Sox players I could stand.

If by rooting for individuals you mean not rooting for them outside of baseball, then I misunderstood. But on the field you will root for Manny or Ortiz to get a hit or HR everytime out because it essentially helps the team.

I voted for the second option. Unfortunately, the media and in turn many fans are making the Yankees into The A-Rod Show. Every day, there's an A-Rod update. IMO, this is not good for team chemistry & seemingly not good for A-Rod either. It shouldn't be 24 + 1. This whole thing taking on a life of its own.

Unless something drastic happens, I just don't see this going in a positive direction for the team....."Last-Year's MVP" or "Future Hall-Of-Famer" notwithstanding.

Since it seems the consensus of fans and media, that they dislike him, coupled with now the GM would like him to be moved, I find it hard to believe he would veto the trade. If that ever got leaked, God help him...
