Stephsamps is at the Stadium and just posted in the GT that the grounds crew has come out to remove the tarp.
supposed to start at 5:30

could ever feel this real forever. If anything could ever be this good again."
Tarp's off, Kay and Singleton are back on YES!![]()
Is this your 2nd year of being banned? Is it permanent?
they should just call the game..
"And I wonder, when I sing along with you. If everything
could ever feel this real forever. If anything could ever be this good again."
Tarp back on the field.
This is gonna be a loooooooong night.
Agreed. Safety first for the players.Originally Posted by SheffRocks11

And I missed my chance to take my sweaters to the dry cleaners.
For anyone who missed the first half inning, the Fish scored one on a hit, a HBP and a dubious long single that on replay was clearly to the right of the foul line. A GIDP got Chacon out of the inning.

It really wasn't that clear. Especially at "life"-speed. The announcers needed several camera angles and super slow motion to show that it went foul. Quite honestly, Chacon shouldn't have put himself in that situation with a horrible HBP.Originally Posted by -tz

Great I will have to listen to it on radio.Originally Posted by Yankee Steve

Who is going to be the other starting pitcher besides Moose?

I doubt that.. It's supposed to rain pretty much all day tomorrow..Originally Posted by -tz

I would doubt that Chacon would pitch. Too bad roles weren't reversed and Josh Johnson didn't get to throw an inning or two before the game was postponed. Means we WILL get him in addition to Willis. RJ should be well rested as he last pitched on Monday. He already had an extra day of rest and I feel pretty sure he will pitch.
I had a ticket for todays game. Is it definitely going to be played tomorrow at 8 PM? And will my ticket stub work?
“I mean, people knew that Brown was out there, and that Randy was ornery all the time. And Pavano is whoever he is. But if you’re their manager, you can’t go out and write about them like that.”

Just saw on the YES scroll on the bottom of the screen that they'll play a day/night doubleheader with first game at 1 p.m. and the 2nd game at 8 p.m., which I assume that the second game won't be on TV.
Johnson is still serving his suspension. It was 5 games not 5 days.Originally Posted by Yankee Steve

Would the Yankees pitch Beam or Smith.

I wonder how Wright would do on short rest. I guess we will see Veras back up tomorrow in place of Reese.Originally Posted by Yanknut023

Neither are starters, and would be a bad idea. I'd guess you'd see someone like Villone, or a kid getting called up from the minors. Beam or Smith woudl hammer the bullpen, which you can't do.Originally Posted by Yanknut023
As some of us have said, this is a perfect example of needing a legit long man on a club. The Yanks don't really have anyone that can give them more than 2-3 innings in the pen.
Hope your right... but what other network would telecast nationally except ESPN? This is no different than FOX having their Saturday afternoon exclusivity. If another team had a game scheduled at 1:00pm, it could not be seen locally. That is why they schedule games at 4:05 on Saturdays. Maybe ESPN's exclusivity clause differs from that of FOX? I don't know, but on YES when they signed off this afternoon after announcing that the game would be played at 8:00pm tomorrow night, Bob Lorenz specifically mentioned that tomorrows 1pm game would be on YES and only mentioned that the makeup game would be played at 8pm, not mentioning that it would too be on YES. I guess we will see...Originally Posted by gold23
So what you are saying is the Yanks should have held on the Small or Erickson for this situations.Originally Posted by gold23

I 100% guarantee the night game will be on YES, shown locally. If you have MLB extra innings, no luck. And it will be blacked out on MLB tv. But it WILL be shown in the tri-state area on YES. I am absolutely certain of this.Originally Posted by Yankee Steve

Not necessarily. What I am saying is that it IS a smart move to have a guy who can throw long periods. I said it when they released Small. I don't think he's a good pitcher at all....but they no longer have a pitcher who can come in after a guy gets knocked out in the 3rd and pitch four innings to save the pen, or someone to start in the event of a DH or injury. It's unwise.Originally Posted by Yanknut023

Oops... sorry, forgot about that.
Not sure about tomorrow night's game but, in case you didn't hear.....hold onto your ticket, because you will be able to use it for any game next year.Originally Posted by JeffWeaverFan

I'd throw Cairo in the 8pm game tomorrow. Won't even need a DH then.
If I had 3 wishes... One of my wishes would be to make a select few of you Pirates Fans.
my guess is that Steven White will be called up, he´s the closest thing we have to a mlb pitcher in AAA.
they could call up steven white (i believe he was supposed to pitch today but the columbus game got rained out too) or if they don't want to go down that route, they could start ron villone.
Ron Villone has historically sucked as a starter, but I guess if torre won't use him for anything else...
Really, I'd rather see Steven White called up, and Reese sent down (or Bubba DFA'ed) to clear a roster spot.
Now that we've clinched, there's only one thing I can say: let's not ................ this up.
I quote from the www.yesnetwork.com web site...Originally Posted by gold23

Chacon is going to start the Sunday night game. If he can't start then Villone will make the start.
