    The Devil's Rejects

    Has anyone seen this?
A film with absolutely no redeeming social value, but a lot of dark humor.
I confess that some parts had me in stiches, and other parts made me want to barf. There was not 1 character in the whole movie any normal person could relate to, yet I was strangely transfixed. Maybe I'm losing my sanity in my declining years.

Made you want to barf? Was it gore-filled or just gross?

    Re: The Devil's Rejects

I purchased this movie a while ago. When it came out on DVD in fact. But have yet to get around to watching it. My wife hates gore so I have to wait until she's out of the house. Problem is, carrying twins she doesn't do much these days. I snuck in Hostel one night while she was sleeping early but that doesn't happen often.

If it's as good as House Of 1000 Corpes I'll be happy.

    This movie stunk big-time.

Buddy of mine rented it the other month & said i "just had to watch it!" it was so great. I've never looked at the timer on a dvd player so many times waiting for such a p.o.s. movie to end. To put it in perspective, i thought "Saw" was a great movie, he thought it sucked, & vice versa with "Devils Rejects". The only thing good about it was the soundtrack.

    Re: The Devil's Rejects

Devil's Rejects is a fantastic movie if you take it for what it is. If you go into it expecting to see The Godfather then you're an idiot who deserves to be dissapointed.

If it's as good as House Of 1000 Corpes I'll be happy.
It's a better movie. HOTC was just making a movie to shock people. This is an actual solid movie.

If you hated it so much, then why did you continue to watch it?

If you don't like it, that's fine, but take it for what it is. A movie by Rob Zombie

I don't know I think I remember seeing her in an FHM mag with Mariah Carey on the front though. It's a picture that my girlfriend's older sister sent me.

Damn. My girlfriend LOVES horror and thinks gore is the s--t. I guess this is a movie worth checking out. The positives seem to outweigh the negatives.

I never saw "House.." but I understand that the 3 main characters from that film reprise their roles in this one. I can well understand why some would call this movie a POS. There is a lot of gruesome over the top violence, sex and gore obviously, everyone's a caricature, the acting (except for Capt. Spaulding) was pretty bad, and there's not much of a plot, but still for some reason I liked this movie..maybe because it didn't take itself seriously, and had lots of black humor and camp references to classic films of the same genre, and even to such serious films as The Petrified Forest, Thelma and Louise, and Bonnie and Clyde. I never thought I would like a Rob Zombie movie. Go figure.

House and Rejects are very different. House is a cheap TCM ripoff that was made just to freak people out. Rejects is an actual good movie. I throughly enjoy it.

So is it a sequel to HOTC or is it just a movie with the same characters?

It is a sequel, but Rejects seems like Rob was trying to make a good solid movie while HOTC seems like he was just trying to make a gory film

I saw White Zombie a long time ago. Not sure how much different Rob is on his own live but for what it's worth he put on a hell of show when I saw him.

    Godsmack is awesome live.

you know i never agreed with much of Rob Zombie's music but he does have quite the bug for directing... His movies have been great, that is if you like the gory horror stuff..

Looks like Rob is also attachted to "Halloween", a remake/prequel/sequel or something.

Has anyone ever heard an interview with him? It's amazing how not-metal he sounds. He talks like a professor. He's awesome.

He's a very well spoken indiviual. I agree. It was great when he hosted Headbanger's Ball when it first returned. He looked like he wanted to be anywhere but there when he played half the sh*t videos he had to play.

Disclaimer: My use of the word "sh*t" in no way is directed at the sh*t community. I'm simply insulting the music I dislike and the music alone. Please do not be offended. grassyass.

It's unfortunate that he keeps casting his wife in all his movies. IMO she sucks as an actress.

She fits the role she plays perfectly IMO. Put her in something else maybe not, but I enjoy her in the two movies so far

    Re: The Devil's Rejects

I saw it last night, and saw "House of 1000 Corpses" the night before. I liked the soundtrack a lot and the directing and editing was pretty cool. It seemed like a whole lot of it was "Chainsaw Massacre" inspired (cutscenes that look camcorder-recorded). My girlfriend's friend watched it with us and told us that "Corpses" would make us barf. She's such a drama queen. We both told her we'd seen worse and she proceeded to say she was a "scaredy cat." "Rejects" was cool, although the ending was dumb, but 100 times better than that stupid Dr. Satan ending from the first movie. Plus that "Freebird" song at the end made it decent to watch the long, drawn-out ending.

If you're talking about that Spalding guy, I have to agree with you. He did so much senseless cussing that some of the stuff he said just had me cracking up.
