I think these two work great together, they break the game down from a players point of view. They have great chemistry.

I like their tandem better. Also with John Flaherty, Al Leiter and Paul O'Neil...
Let's go for #28! A-Rod for 2010 AL MVP!
Agreed, Paulie is awesome in the booth, funny, smart, informative, I love when he calls games.

any team with kaat is a good...he's my favorite of the announcers...definately the most knowledgable...i like him and singleton together as well...o'neill's definately doing a good job too

I'm probably in the minority but I don't like O'Neill as an announcer. I think the best is a tandem of Kaat & Singleton. i also thought David justice did a good job as an announcer. Really good insights and he broke the game down well.
This is only the 2nd time I've gotten to hear Paulie in the booth and I think he is fantastic. He is not only funny but he knows what he is talking about. He has played with a lot of the current players and his playing days are still fresh in our memory. I think he is great with his analysis and breaking down of hitters and fielders. Also, he has a great sense of humor that makes Kittie seem pretty funny as well.Originally Posted by ZYanksRule

I like them a lot. Kaat is a great announcer, and the only real objective announcer on YES. O'Neil is a good commentator and it's nice having a player who we watched play just a few years ago give his thoughts. It's also hillarious how he jokingly makes fun of Kay all the time.
I dont really have a problem with any of the boradcasters YES uses, I just wish they would pick a combonation and stick with it though.
The only thing I dont like about Kaat is that he seems to have something against pitchers with good stuff, and undervalues K's imo. Minor stuff though

now if they can get Kay out of there, I'd be happy.

I love listening to Paul O'Neill give Kay a hard time. It's pretty entertaining.Originally Posted by GoRocket

I heard a significant improvement in Paul's work this week. Didn't he seem to have raised the passion a bit?
How many broadcast teams are there? One thing I like about NESN is they have the same two guys every night. They have a good rapport and relationship and know eachother's way to call a game. Makes for a pretty good experience.
I wish Kaat/O'Neill would work every game, but neither wants a heavy schedule. They are the two best on YES, in my opinion. I used to like Singleton a lot, but over the past year or so I find that I don't enjoy him as much as I used to.
I agree - not only the passion level but he seems much more prepared to discuss all the players - not just the ones he played with..Originally Posted by mrmike98
