    Deadwood - Season 3

    OK...

    So...

Season 1 was among the best things I've ever seen.

Season 2 was very good, not quite up to par with Season 1.

Season 3 started off very strong tonight. Excellent episode and the Previews of next week look awesome.

I'll give no spoilers as many may not have seen it yet.

Started kinda slow for me, but hey... I'll still watch.

The whole Hurst saga should get really interesting.

Maybe I've watched too many John Wayne westerns growing up, but I can't get use to cowboys cursing. It's just wrong.

    Re: Deadwood - Season 3

We recently (a month ago) got an HD TV, and HBO is one of the few channels in HD. For some reason last night the sound and picture kept cutting out for like a second or two every few minutes. Very annoying.

It was doing it all night on that channel HBO HD, but no other channel, so hopefully it was a one time problem.

Made it a little hard to follow, but overall I liked the episode. I thought it was a little slow, but they had to catch us up on everything.

Season 3 may be rivalling Season 1.

The best thing ever on TV. Hands down.

...and funny. Man is it funny.

I can't wait for the next episode, everytime an episode ends.

Did anyone watch last night? The fight between Dan and the Captain? OMG- I had to cover my eyes several times. Don't want to say too much and spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet.
Cannot believe that this will be the final season for this show.

I saw it and it was gross, definitely the worst thing I've seen on the show with the beating given to the two young con artists in season one next.

This season is shaping up to be the best yet and I really hope they chage their mind and do at least one more season. Although now I'm sure the actors have other committments so who knows if it's even possible

It wasn't the main feed, mine worked fine. So likely some issue with your local cable.

Did anyone ever realize that W. Earl Brown, who plays Dan Dority also had the roll of Warren (Mary's brother) in Something About Mary?

It's been too long since I've seen SAM, so I just don't remember that character very well. Sorry...

But, I agree, Deadwood is great this season. Last week's fight was about the most intense thing I've seen on tv, ever.

Only 2 episodes to go and the show is better than ever. Is anyone else watching? The one negative thing is the whole acting troupe storyline, which is pretty boring, IMO.

Just watched Sunday's eppy last night -- WOW! I couldn't believe it when Trixie shot him!

I'm kind of bummed the season is ending tomorrow night.

Did the real-life Hearst get shot by a prostitute?

Where's my baseball??? I like stories....

Just found this thread, I love that show, and read somewhere that although the seasons are ended there are supposedly two, count them two, movies planned.

Off to Custer City to help Wu help "Swedgin" by bringing many Ch((K C**********.

Also read that they are doing the looping for Syndication (??) and there are a lot of made up words like Cob Shuckers according to Calamity Jane.

There was supposed to have been a fourth 10 episode season next year. They decided to shorten it to two 2 hour "movies" to wrap everything up.

Tomorrow night is the Season Three Finale.

I cannot get enough of watching "Deadwood." I place Deadwood on an equal footing with Sopranos - as far as great TV entertainment. Sunday evenings will be void of a great show once the final episode of Deadwood airs tonight.

From what little I have read about the real-life characters in the town of Deadwood, there is no historical record of a whore named "Trixie," who lived in Deadwood. Supposedly, she is one of the fictional characters written in to the story line, just as the China-man, Wu, and even the lady banker, Mrs. Garrett. I doubt George Hearst actually got shot by a whore in Deadwood.

I'm bummed out about the series ending tonight, too.

Are the two hour movies going to be debut on HBO or will they be released in theatres first?

I got the same feeling about this end as the end of the Sopranos this year. I also started to annoy even myself as I kept on saying "I'don't get it"...and I didn't. Anyone have an episode synopsis that makes sense?

I thought the overall episode was good, but the resolution of the whole Hearst situation was sort of anticlimactic. All that build up to the big battle and then... he just rides away. I had a feeling that might be the case when he made a comment in the previous episode about the camp being galvanized, and he was not cut out to destroy his own kind. Still, I hoped there might at least be a small shootout or something.

He had to ride away, otherwise history gets royally f*cked. They probably should have fed a few Pinkertons to Bullock or Utter to allow us as viewers to blow off a little steam. Otherwise, the Hearst storyline ended the only way it could.

    Exactly.

Also to remember... The Episode was written and filmed prior to the c***s***ing bulls**t decision by HBO to f***ing cancel the best show on TV.

The only thing I don't get, nor have I talked to anyone who does get, is the whole actors storyline.

I understand the historical importance of the actors, but they devoted a whole lot of time and it never went anywhere. Of course Brian Cox was stellar in the role.

That was the only thing that saved that sub-plot for me. Watching Cox interact with McShane was worth the price of admission.
