the outfield looks like it's in terrible shape
I'm not accusing Lowell of anything, but he goes from being a terrible player last year to leading the team in doubles this year???

I don't remember the last time we had a remotely decent backup catcher since Posada and Girardi split time in '99. Stinnett, Flaherty, Chris Widger, Todd Greene, Chris Turner....am I leaving anyone out?Originally Posted by Socal Pinstriper

The Yankees are now 206-1 when Mariano has been asked to protect a four-run lead.
Completely unrelated, but since the ASB last year, TampaBay is an over .500 ballclub.Originally Posted by CanoForPresident

I would be if it was his sinkers that are flying out. I think he's mixing it up a lot with his slider. Correct me if I'm wrong.Originally Posted by Socal Pinstriper

maybe Wang is just a little too strong right now, so his ball is staying up...hopefully as he tires (or gets a better feel) his ball will start dipping down...Originally Posted by Socal Pinstriper

Great..
"Jesus Montero is a stud," one evaluator wrote in an e-mail. "One of the best young hitters I've ever seen, period."

Off topic, but I'm watching the Cubs/Marlins game on Extra Innings between innings in the Yankee game. There's so few people in Dolphins Stadium that you can almost hear conversations among the spectators. A huge difference compared to the crowd at Fenway Park.
By the way, YES just lost the picture, so I had to switch over to NESN. Yuck.

The entire infield is brand new this year and so is the outfield, I believe.Originally Posted by DandyAndy46
