Seriously, Mo better not start the 9th if it's tied.

Crosby almost kills a quail... Young resucitates it.

The pen needs to hold on.

We haven't had a walkoff win yet this year... would be really sweet tonight.

I'm in between here...bottom of their lineup, though some good hitters down there. I won't question either decision on this, though I'd stay with Farnsworth and then give Mo 2...

My guess is he is 3-4 with a walk. Unless the bunt he got down was called a hit... But I would have thought that would be an error by the catcher.

    I completely agree.

If the starters fail to get the job done, the bullpen will get overused.

So you agree with taking Villone out after 1 pitch and putting in Proctor (8 innings in 10 days)

Villone needed to pitch to more than one batter tonight. There was no reason to throw Proctor out there.

Yes. The difference is that I don't think he should have been available tonight. Well, I don't think he should have been available last night and then maybe he could have been used tonight.

Yes I can ... this game could remain tied for a while and he just took out a pitcher who'd thrown 9 pitches and was slated to face the bottom of the lineup. Bad move, even if it does work out.

It was ruled a hit with the throwing error allowing Damon to get to third.

The standard rule is that you put your closer in the bottom of the 9th of a tied game since there will never be a save situation. I don't mind it although this time I'd like to have seen Farnsworth.

Or Farnsworth gives up a run (or two) and we only have one crack at it.

Go with your best in the 9th at home.

another broken bat single on mo, great.

why the hell can proctor throw 2 innings every day but farnsworth can't throw more than 9 pitches a week.

what does torre plan to do if this game goes into extra innings, stretch myers for 3-4 innings?

Every manager brings in their closer in this situation. Usually I always want Mo in here. Hopefully it works out.

That's not the point. The point is you go with your closer/best pitcher in this situation because if you give up a run then you have to face their best pitcher needing to get a run.
