Bernie did a lot better this year than I would have expected, and he deserves a ton of credit for that. I think that should be a fitting end to a wonderful career. Thanks for the memories and good luck in the world of music.

Thanks for the good times Bernie. You will be missed (if you don't return). I wish you could have had a better send off (like Paulie). Best of luck.

I, too, think Bernie should come back in some limited role next year, if he wants to. I definitely do not want to see Bernie in another team's uniform, and I don't think he'd want to do that, either. With the injuries we had this season, Bernie made some real contributions with his bat; the guy can still hit, and, better, get timely, clutch hits, something that's not easy to do. Odds are we'll have some injuries next year, too, and he'll get a bit of playing time. And I agree he's a great clubhouse presence. Besides, this sometimes tense team could use a little bit of Bernie's music to relax to.

bernie has no role on this team, he can't and should not play defense, and he has no power. Thanks bernie, keep it real
Yeah all our poor defensive/offensive roles have been filled by guys making more money.Originally Posted by Dr. Gonzo
