I guess I was using old style too? Things look different so it must be.

Now that one problem is fixed, is there a "new posts" icon somewhere new that I am missing? Lawd, I don't handle change well.![]()
Which new posts icon (there are several areas where there is a link to 'new posts')?Originally Posted by yankeebot

Thanks for the Quick Reply box Jim!

I don't think Quick Reply is working for me. When I click on a "Quick reply to this message" the quick reply box doesn't get activated. Anyone else having this problem? I'm on Firefox 1.5.0.1.
This is making me dizzy.
I found it. Thanks. I am just a bit spacey today I believe.Originally Posted by Jim F.

I think we used to be able to type right in the box, now you have to hit the QR icon in a post...either way, it's better than opening a reply window.Originally Posted by CptCrunch

Yeah. I used to like that too but I guess an extra click isn't too much of a hassle.Originally Posted by yanksphan

Wow.
Terrific new stuff.
I can't see anthing I'll miss. The improvements are great.
Well done.

No problem - now you can type w/o having to click the QR icon.Originally Posted by yanksphan

This current style is annoying imo. The user area off to the left is adifferent length depending on the length of the person's username...makes it so that some people's text appears off the screen.

Yes, I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.1. I see the quick reply section at the bottom and just like it says, I clicked on the quick reply icon next to someone's post, but it didn't do anything. I even logged out and logged back in.Originally Posted by Jim F.

Yeah that was a nice feature.Originally Posted by Jim F.

Yep, now it works. I used the QR box to type this message. Thanks!
One other thing (I like the way the "new posts" link tells you which ones are new and which ones are unread), but it seems that a thread that I post in disappears from the "user cp" subscriptions list until there's a new post in it.
Also, I heavily use this site on my iPaq. is there any chance of bringing back the Nyyfans lite. It worked great and was probably one of my favorite features about this site.

One more thing: a hard return doesn't create a new line. Do I have to enter < br > code?
I miss it too, since I'm unable to "get" how to do it otherwise.Originally Posted by Jim F.

I love this feature to check if you're on line. This way I can see if John (JDPNYY) is avoiding me.
I heard this today...Did Coltrane actually exist? This is like being blind for 50 years, regaining sight, and then peering directly at the sun.

I like being able to insert quotes and images in QR

Just copy the comment/statement and then put the quote tags around it. You can reply to multiple posts in one post, you just have to do everything manually.Originally Posted by Trish
Loved multi quote. even if you only ended up responding to one post, It allowed you to read an entire thread, then respond to whatever post(s) you had checked without scrolling back up to find them.Originally Posted by Jim F.

Like NYYFans.com??? Take the time to click an ad, remember to make Amazon purchases through the link that appears here, or better yet, just hit the paypal button. - Hans
I'm still getting used to the fact that the User CP subscription list will only show those that have new replies. Earlier it showed the latest ones.
There's a link called "View all Subscribed Threads" - does that do what you need it to?Originally Posted by gdn

When I posted in the Myspace thread the link to my updated profile, I put the link on a separate line, but when I clicked submit, the link was on the same line as the comment I made about it.Originally Posted by Jim F.
It happened when I hit quote and it also happened when I started a thread. However, earlier, it showed me code instead of quoting in HTML. Now, however, it quotes HTML, so it must be fixed. Also the background color went from white to grey.Originally Posted by Jim F.
As far as the other thing, what I used to do was just click on User CP and that would show me all the threads I'd posted in recently and then I'd click on it again 5 minutes later and it would change order depending on whether there were new posts in one of my subscribed threads. The threads I'd already read were also still visible. If I wanted to see ALL subscribed threads, I'd click on the link you provided above.
Now what it does is, User CP shows me my latest subscribed threads, but if there isn't a new post, it doesn't show it.
So say there are three threads all with new posts within the past 5 minutes. I click on one of them and post an entry then click user cp again. The thread that I just posted in disappears from that list leaving the other two. Then if someone else posts in that thread, it re-appears. That never happened. It always stayed (thought it wasn't bolded) and showed my post as the last post.
One question; your number of posts used to appear underneath your location, and now it doesn't. Did you remove that permanently, or is that just a glitch?
I'll look into that.Originally Posted by gdn

Okay one more question [I know I'm whining and I apologize]. When I go to reply to a thread, if I want to add a smilie and I click on the link "more" underneath the visible smilies, nothing happens. I can't even click on the smilies that are visible to add them.
I just tested it out and I think I see what you mean. The UserCP by default will only show you subscribed threads that are classified as 'unread'. To get to the screen I believe you're talking about, click on the link (upper left corner) that says New Subscribed Threads. If that doesn't give you what you want, then I'm afraid that's just something that's different in this new version of the software -- sorryOriginally Posted by gdn

How come my posts still suck?
