FYI: YES is televising the Toronto game...

FYI for you guys. The spring training schedule on Yankees.com says that tomorrow's Toronto game will only be available on MLB TV. I just saw a commercial on YES saying they ARE televising the game at 1:00 PM.

I know there was a number of people wanting to see Hughes pitch so I just wanted to let everyone know.

Oh boy ... baseball on Sunday afternoon!

EDIT: Hmmm ... Sunday's game, or Monday's? (Monday's WAS scheduled to be on YES.)

You can also see Bernie meet the Mets on ESPN at 2.

Hmm... on my guide it says the 2003 ALCS Game 3 is on from 1 PM - 4 PM. Maybe they changed their schedule because they know people want to see Hughes?

EDIT: I just checked out YESNetwork.com, and this game isn't on the schedule. Are you sure you saw the right game?

There's some confusion here. YES was always telecasting Monday's game at 1:15. Hughes is pitching in today's game, which isn't televised.

More confusion. Today's game is listed as being televised by MLB but if you go to the MLB site, it is NOT one of the games listed.

Re: FYI: YES is televising the Toronto game...

For every schedule on MLB.com, it shows MLB.TV under every s/t game, despite the fact that it is far from the case.

The only games on MLB.TV are:
    BOS v MIN
    HOU v PHI
    SF v CHC

However, if you have gameday audio on mlb.com, the game will be available via the stream

It should be on CBS radio. No YES and no MLB TV. MLB audio will have it.

It is NOT being televised ANYWHERE. As 38 said, you can get it on the radio, which I'm assuming is from CBS.

At the end of the broadcast yesterday, Sterling said the next game on the radio would be next Saturday.

The MLB Yankee broadcast schedule here has no TV and no radio for today's game. If you go to the Blue Jay broadcast schedule here you'll find a radio station listed, but no TV. So I'm assuming the game will be available from MLB Gameday Audio, but only the Toronto feed.

    Better than nothing, though!

Ok, so I tried both links and apparently, MLB rules don't allow streaming. So there's no audio feed... unless someone is in Toronto and wants to provide PBP.

While it is only an exhibition game it is good they won so that George will not go crazy about it - this spring training is not normal due to the WBC but if George is calmer we can try the propsects and see how they do.

Yesterday was the perfect day for a Spring Training game. It was freezing out and there was nothing on tv. Everyone should send an email to YES.

Re: FYI: YES is televising the Toronto game...

Just as an aside, and I should be used to this kind of thing by now, but Michael Kay and Bobby Murcer are doing a BRUTAL job on these ST games. A huge part of the charm of watching a spring game is to get a look at the young players, the rookies. What kind of background info, scouting info etc. are Kay and Murcer giving us on these kids? Practically none. A few times I've come back in from another room a few pitches into the inning to find some unfamiliar kid on the mound for the Yankees, and I've had to wait 3 or 4 batters before one of them even mentions the kid's name.

The only rookie they seem to be giving any kind of chatter to is Marcos Vecchionacci, and even then, the banter is pretty much restricted to:
    a) Joe Torre loves his defense.
    b) Yogi Berra isn't sure if "Vechionacci" is an Italian name.

We're basically getting no low-down at all on these kids, and it's pretty apparent that Kay and Murcer, two guys who no doubt are well-compensated for their work, basically parachuted into these games without doing any real preparation. Great work, guys!
