    Strange Death Story

My elderly next door neighbor passed away at 2:00 this morning. She was about 85 years old and she had been diagnosed with lung cancer last week. She lived with her daughter, son-in-law and grandson. The grandson's wish was that his grandmother would live to see his birthday. So at 2:00 AM, she walks into his room (mind you she couldnt really walk) and says, "I'm sorry, I can't do it." Her grandson goes to get his mother, and when his mother comes in, his grandmother collapses into her arms and dies.

I guess this shows that she knew she was about to die, and that just seems kind of creepy to me.

That's a sad story, eerie though. Sometimes things work in strange ways. When is the grandson's birthday?
It's too bad the daughter had to see her die that way.

People often give up the will to live and pass away. It happened with my wife's father.

I understand that, but what I wonder is whether or not she was in some type of continual pain. If that's the case and she's suffering I could see why she wouldn't want to stay around. Either way it's sad that she passed away like that in front of her family.

That certainly is eerie and yet so terribly sad. She tried, but just couldn't make it. May she rest in peace...

I don't see it as sad or eerie. I think most folks that are dying of a terminal illness probably do know when the end is approaching. I think it was a great gift that she went to her grandson right before she passed.
