Have a project question....
does anyone know from where in Italy (town, please) Tony Lazzeri's ancestors were from?
If anyone has Tony's biography, it should say there. (BTW, if you do have it, is it a good read?)

His ancestors? Wouldn't it be enough to know where he himself was born? All depends upon how many generations also, since I'm sure his prior family didn't just sit in one spot and stay there for generations on end.
If you have tivo, put it to good you. Could have something on espn Classic of him, or A&E Bio, etc.
I couldn't find much in a brief search of google.
Dr King (1929-68) A dream is forgotten unless others carry on.
Get up ... get up ...; Black Moses (he ain't no chef); Isn't she Lovely? (Aisha); Fear the 'Fro; A slow roller to 1st ...
Me, either, amico mio. He was born here (in that Yanks hotbed--SF)...curious where his parents are from...Lazzeri is mainly from Toscana (as is my mom)![]()

Try Sicily
Nah---Lazzeri is probably northern Italian:
http://gens.labo.net/it/cognomi/genera.html
Input "Lazzeri" where it says "Cognomi" (=last names)
The dots represent density---almost none in southern Italy--most in Toscana

His obituary gives an interesting summary of his short life. No mention of his parents' origins, though.Originally Posted by Tifoso

The bios conflict as to what killed him. Some say he died of a seizure; others from injuries that were a result of the seizure; others just the injury.
He never had a seizure while playing, though.

My friend Paul Lazzeri told me that he might be in some way related to him. I didn't believe him until I factored in the thought that he isn't into sports or baseball. He also says he dislikes the Yankees because he knows I'm a fan. Kinda weird. I think his father knows though.
Could you ask him for me?
Please get the city they came from, too, if possible.
(Don't mean this as condescending, OK?)
for example Lucca, Toscana, Italy (like saying Albany, NY, USA)

Sure, if he knows I'll get it right to you. If not it may take a day or two for him to ask other family. What's funny is that he looks kinda like Lazzeri to me, all the way down to the haircut.Originally Posted by Tifoso

Paul Lazzeri, he's wearing a Yankees cap. Funny?

Although this isn't the reply you're awaiting I always tell him to wear his cap right. It looks funny to me and I laugh at him kinda. Shawn Chacon is the only one that should wear his hat like that, and that's because I think it helps him pitch well.Originally Posted by Tifoso

Project due by end of next week. Does anyone know the answer? Has anyone bought the bio/work in a bookstore and can give me the answer? The local B&N doesn't carry it.
Help.
