Little bit? That guy was doing a flat out Chris Whatever (I hate Coldplay) impression. Coldplay sucks, but knockoff Coldplay is even worse.Originally Posted by SheffRocks11

Hey guys, check out Hyper Static Union. their debut CD "Lifegiver" comes out tomorrow, May 9th. They're a mix of rock and funk and they're awesome!

"Strickland Propene does not have a vending machine. It smells, and I thank God every day I get home that I didn't get exploded. The end."

Check out "we have the facts and we're voting yes", it's better than every other death cab cd.Originally Posted by SuperMario66

Y'all should check out Drive-By Truckers. Great southern-ish, 70s-ish rock band, new album "a blessing and a curse" just came out. I think you can download one of the songs at drivebytruckers.com for free but i'm not totally sure.
Congratulations Mike Mussina on your 20th win!
Anyone listen to got.radio.com? I've been listening to Indie Rock through them and have recently discovered two new bands that I like: Morningwood and Elbow (Elbow isn't that new but Morningwood is.). Wexy (I think it was him) was right, commercial radio is dead in NY. I got so tired of listening to the Jack FM station here. All they play is old fogey stuff. (And, I'm over 40!)
Bern Baby Bern
a couple albums i've been listening to lately:
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - Don't You Fake It
regular k-rock brand rock: http://www.myspace.com/redjumpsuit
Hit the Lights - This Is a Stick-Up . . . Don't Make It a Murder
pop-punk: http://www.myspace.com/hitthelights
Forgive Durden - Wonderland
sorta poppy, but with a cool groove to it: http://www.myspace.com/forgivedurden
as well as the new Thursday and Head Automatica albums.
Satellite man. It's so worth it.Originally Posted by Bern Baby Be

See! I'm not the only one! TMV owns all prog-rock. If you like Frances, you have to go back and grab Deloused in the Comatorium. A new one (tentatively titled Helena) will be dropping at some point this year.Originally Posted by boo_427

No, they know you're just a boy

If anyone likes slower alternative music...
The New CD "We Were Here" by Joshua Radin is really good.

The Lay Lady Lay cover with Gemma Hayes is so, so beautiful.Originally Posted by NYDCYankee
Get the new TV on the Radio album, Return To Cookie Mountain. They're a local (NYC) band that are pretty much in a league of their own.

Not that anyone cares, but Brandston - Earthquakes and Sharks is my new fave song.
"God, I hope I wear this jersey forever." - Derek Jeter
They're playing a free show in Prospect Park in Brooklyn on June 30th. Which is also my birthday so I couldn't ask for much more.Originally Posted by NYDCYankee

thanks to the internet i've had it for a couple weeks now. it's not really my thing though. maybe because i was never a big Blink/Tom Delonge/whatever fan, it just doesn't really appeal to me.Originally Posted by SheffRocks11
