I love going to Spring Training. It's awesome. I can't wait to get some more signatures on my Yankees Pennant. I have Mattingly, Matsui, and Doug Glanville(I thought he would make the team as a back up outfielder, I thought wrong).

I will be there from the 17-21st.... I hope that position players start practicing at Legends Field early.... I would rather watch them practice and get autographs there then have to wait outside the Minor League Complex for hours

Re: Spring Training reporting dates announced

My question is will the players playing in the World Classic (Damon, A-Rod, Jeter) be at Legends for the Spring Training Games in early March? I was hoping to see these guys when I am down there and with the WBC it may not happen.
Can anyone confirm if they heard what the plans of these guys are?

I'd appreciate some advice. I live just north of Orlando so I'm in proximity of quite of few spring facilities. Does anybody know where is it that the Yanks would be most accessible for photos and autographs?

Autos are very hard to get, need to be very patient and have some luck. Haven't got Jeter in two years. Saw him today it was just me and another guy and he said I can't sign today and left. Torre is good, and usually can get a Torre and Giambi

Stacie, last year Giambi signed like crazy. I don't collect autographs so I did not want to bother with the lines/crowds but if he is out signing again this year I will try to get you one.

NYYRocket what's your AIM screen name... would like to talk to you about autographs & Tampa. I was the famous person last year during spring training getting Giambi's autograph, I made front of yankees.com, was in the nypost, usa today, and front cover of sports in the st petesburg times. Hopefully I can find a way into another press photo this year

I really would like to have 2 particular pieces signed this year.... both by ARod. I have an Authentic 2005 All Star Game jersey, the one that says American on front, would like to have Alex sign the #1 in blue sharpie. I also have a 12x36 photoramic of ARod that I got matted already so it will be easier to hold etc. I have a Jeter 16x20 on the way from art.com. As always, I hope to finally get Mariano, Sheffield, Matsui. I have something for everyone to sign.

Not to rain on your parade...but if I were Alex, Jeter or anyone of the above.. I would be thinking '"auto" on Ebay tomorrow ' and cordially bypass your request.
My past experiences at ST games is that they're more likely to give 'auto's" to a kid with a ball or a program, than an adult with a 'matted picture' or a jersey.

Just my observations But Good Luck to You.

You'll have to try late in the campaign...A-Rod won't be there until after the WBC, or until the US is eliminated.
    Let the kids play.

Exactly true it's good to haven a Token young kid with you. Definitely increases your chances, I am ready this year with my little one just turning 5 and a Rabid Yanks Fan(She can name all the starting position players) we are headed to Tampa! Hopefully will be Lucky w/ the sigs.

Still wondering if the players playing in the WBC will be at Tampa?

Yep, and the players aren't pleased with the prospects of signing just so someone can make money off of it. It's even gotten to the point where they are suspicious of kids too because adults will pay kids to get autographs for them. A sad state of affairs because it just makes it harder and harder to get autographs because less and less players are willing to sign them as often as they might have in the past.

Re: Spring Training reporting dates announced

This will be my 4th consecutive year going to Yankees Spring Training and first off, I have seen Arod & Jeter sign jerseys and large photos, matted ones too, so I am not worried that much about getting shot down. Last year Jeter signed my 16x20 on the first day of full squad. Also, I am going in like 2.5 weeks from now, I am not going to their games, so I won't be missing any players that are competing in the WBC, everyone will be there in February, ok Bub. The biggest reason why I am going to the practices and not the games is because players are more inclined to sign during practices, and there are less fans, less security, less stress on the players themselves. And ALL my autographs that I get, I keep. I get them professionally matted and framed and they go up in my room. My brother is going to be there, as well as both my parents, so if need be, I will have my mom get me Arod on one of the 2 items.

"Pitchers and catchers" are my favorite three words in the world when used in that combo.

My favorite childhood memories were waking up in the snow, waiting for my ride to a 5:30 am pitcher workout before school- March 8th was the first day for my district.

Anyway....the old park in Fort Lauderdale, where you could actually have long conversations with the players before night games in the parking lot- and not have people mobbing them for autographs.

I love spring training (until mid-March, at which point I start itching for Opening Day).
