Thread: Each year I find myself caring less and less about the Hot Stove Season

Each year I find myself caring less and less about the Hot Stove Season

I used to care so much about what happened during the Hot Stove season. I would think to myself "Who are the Yankees going to get?" "Are the Red Sox going to improve?" "Where are the big free agents going to sign?"

    And on and on.

But as time passes I almost don't really care that much. I now kind of have the attitude "Just tell me when it's April."

Yes, I will follow what happens in the offseason, but I no longer obsess over it. I spend more time doing things I don't do that much during baseball season, like read and watch movies.

Does anyone else feel like this?

Yes, especially since it seems the trade deadline has become more important in many repsects.

unfortunately I'm still obsessed but that might have something to do with me being bored at work often.

When the Yanks don't win the WS for a couple of years it has strange effects on Yankee fans.

I was never big on the hot stove season, it's all rumors and conjecture until something actually happens. Then you don't really know what's good until the season starts anyway.

I feel the opposite... As I get older, I pay more attention to the Hot Stove... Don't know why... Could be because of marriage.. Could be because it's the only thing I know (baseball). I don't care why, I just wake up everyday and can't wait to get to the paper/internet to read about baseball.....

I feel the same way. I like the off-season...it lets me concentrate on other things. Whatever happens in the off-season shaping of the team happens. I'll root for the 25 we have on opening day and take it from there.

last year I cared more. But hockey is back so I don't pay attention unless something big happens. I've always been that way. My Rangers take up the time. And the way hockey has been for the last decade, I need all that time to learn the new roster anyway. Turnover on teams is just absurd.

I'm the exact opposite. Each year the hot stove gets to be more and more interesrting and exciting to me.

I couldn't care as much anymore. I used to hate the offseason, now I don't, gives me more time for other things, and then once signs of Spring start to show and I'm craving baseball again, it's back.

Sometimes the media over does it with possible trades and rumors and therefore, as time goes on it becomes boring. Wait until spring training begins and injuries start to occur and that's when trades and deals get interesting.

I agree. I love all the trade and free agent rumors.

The games are the best, but if you can't have the games, hearing about the behind-the-scenes stuff is a very close second.

I actually wouldn't mind the off-season if there were more rumors and more action. It's these dull periords that make me hate winter.
