Poor kitty. Let's hope that was life #1 and he's on his way back as a 20 lb. American short hair!Originally Posted by Bosox Guy in Chitown

I saw that a few days ago.
I don't know why, but I don't buy it.
He only lived one day - kittens eyes aren't open at one day old. Unless this particular kitten simply lacked enough eyelid to cover the eye, and that's possible - I dunno, this seems fake to me.
The things you see, the way you see them, will never be seen again.
Let's go through life, livin' on luck, bettin' ten thousand to ten.
...and you believe this?
Thanks for the memories, George. You made the Yankees what they are today... Champions!
I don't know if the photo is real or fake but the condition is real so why not?

Kittens are born with their eyes closed. They don't open until anywhere from a week or two. Looks photoshopped to me. You can see the edge of a closed eye to the right of that big open eye.
Edit: Guess I'm wrong. In Cyclopia, the eyelid is usually absent.
Snopes.com determined this was true.

That looks insanely fake but my family actually had a one eye cat due to an accident. A few years ago our cat, actually it was more of a kitten, was hit by a car. Somehow it managed to make it back home with one broken leg and one of it's eyes hanging out of its head. My sisters were probably 11 or so at the time and were so upset that my dad decided to pay for all the necessary medical work. They couldn't save the eye and had to sew up the socket and the cat had to have a cast on it's leg. It was an all black cat so it didn't look too freaky but there was so much internal damage that I don't think he lasted much more than a couple months. We have the WORST luck with cats. Oops, look what I just did - jinxed the two we still have.

Well, a one eyed cat due to an accident is slightly different than a kitten born with one big eye and no nose.![]()

What an ugly freak of nature
That can't be real???![]()
Because one was caused by an accident and one was born with a strange condition. Your cat was born with 2 eyes. This little kitten was born with only one eye.Originally Posted by DaBomber25

Wow. How sad. Still looks fake to me.
