Actually, they'd just kicked me out right before entering the Lincoln Tunnel, so I had a little bit of trouble getting into Manhattan yesterday. The cops got suspicious when they kept seeing the same guy amongst the 4 people, and everyone else holding their noses w/the windows open in freezing weather.Originally Posted by JDPNYY

i had to pay 4.75 each way on Metro-North from the Bronx to Grand Central when I coulda just rode with my pre-paid monthly Metrocard on the #1 train. And I had to schlep back and forth from my house to the Metro North station, whether it was rain or cold, night or day.
The worst part is... that money STILL went to the same agency, the MTA, who (along with the TWU) CAUSED the strike in the FIRST place.
But I feel worse for the hard working people of Brooklyn, NY who really had no alternative other than schlepping across the bridge.
I got a laugh out of face on the guy who sat in the bar bitching about the strike/the 3 hour walk/the cold/the strikers for an hour straight when the bartender suggested that maybe someone would have given him a ride at least part of the way if he wasn't such an annoying %@$&.
