That's the point.. making them longer to make more ads.
But too long isn't fun. Like we have those threads about "Offseason Deals" that are like 20+ pages long. Making it longer would just be harder to find info that happened a while ago.

It actually used to be that way. But threads got so ridiculously long, something had to be done. I guess I'd rather put usability before revenue. And in the long term, a site with better usability will earn greater revenue anyway.
