I for one am more than willing to give up some offense(hence my desire to have low cost players like Wilkerson and Hairston/Matos in the OF) in return for defense and an airtight bullpen. IIRC, Mo will be coming into the last year of his contract and might just decide to call it a career. Gordon wants to close (although wanting and getting are two different things). Wagner can be promised split closing time in 2006 and FT closing status in 2007. Splitting closing time would allow him to slowly adapt into his role here. BJ Ryan would replace Gordon or at worse slot Gordon into a Tanyon Stuze role should the Yankees choose to retain his services. We have a bunch of 3.5 ERA starters which when combined with a bullpen topped of by Mo and Wagner should make for many late inning yawners. Your thoughts.
