The offense has been terrible for years now, and if you compare the depth chart to the other three teams in the Beast, the Skins are last on offense in every phase:
Giants: better O-line, QB, RBs, WRs.
Eagles: see above.
Cowboys: see above.
With Cooley, the 'Skins are obviously taken care of at TE, but every other area they are last in. (With Randy Thomas going on IR again, it sure would be nice if they had spent one of those '08 second-rounders on an offensive lineman, instead of a backup TE and two receivers with issues.)
The defense is obviously the strength of the team, but they don't get enough sacks or cause enough turnovers to really help out the offense in scoring points.
Keep playing GM with your puppet, Vinny Cerratto, Danny Boy. It's worked so well for the last ten years.
With Gibbs gone, Dan has no more protection from the fans. No one would boo a Gibbs team, even if it was a sloppy 9-7 win.
For sake of this franchise, sell the team Dan. Your tenure has been a bomb of epic proportions. This was a franchise that had very few off years before your arrival. Now they luck into the playoffs every few years and give the fans false hope of good things to come. This team will never sniff a SB with Dan Snyder as the owner.

IMO the Redskins problems starts right at the top w/ownership. Unless things change with him, the Skins will continue to be mediocre.

Gibbs getting the team to the playoffs twice was miraculous.

It's not gonna do any good to fire him right now. He's only part of the problem.
If there's anything good I can take from this game is that the offense needs to play more like they did the last 5 minutes. Of course the Lions were in prevent, but this was the most urgency I saw with the offense at all today. Even Zorn was screaming at his offense at one point that when they break the huddle to get their ass moving to the line and get the ball snapped!
Jorge Posada can run from home to 1st faster than the Skins can get from the huddle to the line.

I have no problem in a football pool for money picking against the Skins, but I still went with the Skins not because I was confident for them, but Detroit has to prove they can win a single game before I ever circle them in the pool.
When the Skins were good, the Yankees sucked and since the Yankees have been good the Skins have sucked.

Doesn't really matter what pick they have. Vinny blew it on Rogers and Landry, he'll blow it again. DeMarcus Ware, Shawne Merriman, Darrell Revis, and Adrian Peterson (all players Vinny passed on) would look a whole hell of a lot better on the team than either LaRon or Carlos.

Danny Boy just got served.
For such an astute businessman, you would think he could figure this out on his own. Good business people understand to stay within your skillset and hire people with the proper skills to perform the task. It's been ten years and the team has gotten worse.
Does Cerrato have something over on Snyder? There is no other logical reason for keeping him around other than he does exactly what Snyder wants. His skillset is not evaluating talent or developing players for roles or adjust roles for players, it's just making boneheaded moves, year after year.
I'm guessing the incentive to change anything needs to come from fans not buying tickets but I'm not sure that'll ever happen with this team. This situ reminds me of the Yankees during the 80's, but w/o the winning record.

Skins have yet to play an opponent that has a win coming into the game. Ok, throw away the 0-0 Giants if you wish, but still they will play their first 6 games of the season against winless teams.
The 0-5 Chiefs are next.
