Ok, there's only a few of us here, but what do you think of Gibbs naming Brunell the starter after one week?

It's the lesser of two evils for me I guess. It's hard to endorse one Qb over the other, but I guess Brunell will make less mistakes and let the "D" win games.

Who can blame him? Talk about not getting a fair chance.

I'm not surprised by Gibbs' move, but I don't think it's the right one, and that makes me happy.

    Re: The Redskins Thread

I watched both QB's in all four preseason games and the season opener. Brunell has clearly played better than Ramsey. It's the right move.

Gibbs' understands how important it is to beat Dallas and I agree with him that Brunell gives us the best chance.

Yeah, because the only team anybody cares about is "Americas Team" (I hate that nickname). Give me a f'in break.

    Re: The Redskins Thread

I think the decision was a bit hasty. I know Ramsey turns the ball over. It's because he will take a chance. Brunell doesn't have to worry about that unless the NFL starts to allow bounce passes. His arm is dead. He can move well and still has the head for it but he has no zip and can't throw deep at all.

That being said, I still hope we beat the Cowboys so bad that their owner's plastic surgery is reversed.

It's not that, it's just that, quite naturally, I think they're scum undeserving of serious discussion, and they make me very irrational. But that's just me.

Come on, in the course of losing 14/15 did you lose your sense of humor too? Calm down!

    Re: The Redskins Thread

    Holy , a Redskins thread.

My stance on this is I really don't care who the QB is as long as they win some damn games.

I'm also unable to say that I think either one is better than the other one to the point where its a slam dunk decision. I also saw all the pre-season games (thanks to Tivo and the NFL Network) and Brunell looked alot better than last year, and yes, better than Ramsey.

Brunell is more careful with the ball, but that means alot of dinking and dunking. Ramsey brings more big play ability, but also more big mistake ability. He throws passes that I wonder what in the world he must have seen to even think about letting that ball go. He doesn't seem to have improved a whole bunch in this area since we drafted him and I think this has frustrated Gibbs greatly in the last year.

I don't like the way it came about, guy leaves with injury and all that, but I can't blame Gibbs for making the switch. I do think Brunell gives us a better chance to win this week, though. For one, Dallas is typically all over our poor QB, and at least Brunell has a little mobility to get out of the pocket. He's more accurate throwing on the run, too. And hopefully he avoids the big mistake that drives yet another stake into our hearts (and that we avoid inventing a new way to lose for once).

Ramsey is terrible. Brunell is not much better, but I think he at least gives the Redskins a chance to stay in the game.

More importantly, it opens things up for Portis. Once Hat-trick got knocked out (and I call him that, 'cuz he's good for 3 INTs a game ), Chicago stopped stacking 8 in the box. At least Brunell keeps the defense honest....

.... not that it will help much on Triplets' Day.

@ Hat trick. I may have to borrow that. I have some friends who are Redskins fans and I love to bust their chops about Ramsey.

This is a perfect assessment of Brunell vs. Ramsey.

Gulp! Brunell does give us a better shot at winning. That's not saying much though. The "We want Campbell" chants may be coming soon.

There's a few of those already. Hell, one of the Washington papers today reported that "some players" feel Campbell is the best of the 3 anyway. For whatever that's worth, I guess.

Actually, while Taylor can play brilliant at times, I think he's more trouble than he's worth and I don't see him having a long career in D.C. I hope he proves me wrong, but this will not end well for the Skins and Taylor.

Show me where anyone wrote one here. Next you can show me Sean Taylor's conviction record that doesn't exist. I can show you plenty from the Cowboys.

I take back the worded books comment. Clearly your next step is not being suprised by pop-up books.

"4 Cowboys in a police car and who's driving" was posted by early on by yankeesAZ. But since you are so far up into your ass on your book comments that you missed have missed one. Damn I wish I was as smart as you and just maybe I could use phrases like "drinky drinky."

Is it me or is Moss dropping an ungodly high number of passes this year? Yikes.

3-2, and the 2 losses they just went out and flat out blew the game and shot themselves in the foot. God knows the Redskins could never be 5-0 ( ) but jeez, the way they lost those 2 games is just maddening.

Moss has dropped 6 passes this year, only 2 behind the league leader. He's been terrible this year, plain and simple. If he was inactive in Green Bay, they most likely win that game. Since the FO hasn't given away the 2008 draft (yet), they need to address the WR position high in the draft. It's not 1987 Joe, we need a receiver taller than 5'9". There is a reason no Redskins WR has a TD catch this year.

Wait a minute there, AlphaZulu. It's not like my Packers played over their heads against your Skins. We had one TD called back on a holding call that happens probably three times on every play from scrimmage. Franks should have had a TD reception had the Zebra made the correct call that he was pushed out of the back of end zone. Plus, our rookie PK missed two FGs that he should have made.

It was a sloppy game both ways.

Definitely. But I'll take it. It was at the point where I was actually wondering how we'd blow this one and I don't think I took a breath until the clock hit 0:00.

I won't comment on how 2 bombs don't erase a woeful offensive performance for now. I'll just stay wide awake the whole night and replay 3 plays (2 bombs to Moss and the Brunell scramble on 3rd and 27) in my head all night.

Same here. I did not rest until I saw :00, then 10 years of Texas Stadium frustration was let out. We still have a lot of problems, but the defense put us in position to win the game.

The defense is definitely the heart and soul of this team, as it was last year. Big stops at the end of the game to keep them out of FG range. Especially after the big return that hand me pulling my hair out (I think I went through about 20 "not again..." moments in the last 2:30).

Parcells is now 77-1 in games leading by 13 or more in the 4th. I still don't believe what I just saw. Next up, Seattle in 2 weeks. At least it will be on TV out here.

BTW, according to this S.I. writer, we're the "worst 3-0 team ever"

The offense took some major strides in the right direction. Night and day from the first two games. Gibbs' was right to go with Brunell. The man is becoming the leader of the team.

Moss is the second coming of Gary Clark. Incredibly clutch receiver.

The 'Skins need to start getting some turnovers and putting pressure on the QB. Hasselbeck had way too much time.

The 12th man at FedEx was by far the loudest I've ever heard them.

They showed the two highlights from the Dallas game three different times on the big screen. I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing them.

The 'Skins went from 12 penalties vs Dallas to 2 vs Seattle.

    3-0 HTTR!

    Re: The Redskins Thread

Living in the DC area, I'm surprised by the level of restraint shown by Redskins fans this year. Normally a 3 - 0 start would mean the Redskins are Superbowl bound. Come to think of it, I know many Redskins fans who would still be talking Superbowl after an 0 - 3 start. It's different this year though. It's like everyone is just waiting for the collapse.
    Never left the Betances bandwagon.

Umm this thread needs to be deleted.
Why do the Redskins have a thread on a Yankees message board?

I can see the Patriots since they are a popular team and there are some CT Mixers.

But the Redskins...they're just a medicore team, franchise, and a medicore fanbase full of rednecks.

I had to spend a lot of time in Northern VA and I just despise that micky mouse franchise and their ignorant, obnoxious, hee-haw fans more than ANY team in sports.

I hate to see them being given special treatment on a Yanks board.
This is NY sports...you want Redskin talk...go to white trash Maryland.
