Top 12, rounding 2nd, right leg gave out. Got to 3rd and immediatly left the game. He walked off under his own power, but you have to wonder
He may not reach 36 HRs now.
If I had 3 wishes... One of my wishes would be to make a select few of you Pirates Fans.
Really a shame, I was hoping he would make it through the last month. Hopefully, though, he'll be able to. Could've been a precautionary move due to his history.
He just tied Mickey Mantle on the all time list too.Originally Posted by JDPNYY

He'll be back
Joba the Chamberlain

Sprained foot defenitely seems light compared to anything he had in the past few years
Should be day to day and back in a week I bet..
Congrats on #536 though... something that might've been passed years ago but better late than never
This guy is an injury magnet. I hope he will be alright.
"And I wonder, when I sing along with you. If everything
could ever feel this real forever. If anything could ever be this good again."
I hope he has a quick recovery
I hope it's not serious, but this is the exact reason they should have traded him to the White Sox and the exact reason I was so adamant about the Yankees not trading for him.
“I mean, people knew that Brown was out there, and that Randy was ornery all the time. And Pavano is whoever he is. But if you’re their manager, you can’t go out and write about them like that.”
I hope he comes back within a week. There's no discussion, he is the NL comeback player of the year. The problem is he needs to come back again. I wish Junior well, his bat has been hot and he's shown a lot of the critics that he still has that strong love for the game of baseball.
he only sprained his foot, had nothing to do with his hammy

So he'll be back by next year, but who is to say he's going to stay healthy next year? Especially since he'll be yet another year older. The Reds made a horrendous decision by not trading this guy when they had the chance.Ken Griffey Jr. will have surgery on his left knee and right hamstring Monday, presumably ending a stellar comeback season for the oft-injured Cincinnati Reds star. The 35-year-old center fielder is expected to be ready for spring training.

I think they tried, but teams weren't gullible enough to pull the trigger.Originally Posted by JeffWeaverFan

surgery on both legs? wtf?
I thought he only tweaked his foot, now he needs surgery? Elaboration please.
The White Sox wanted him.Originally Posted by WHIP

This guy gets injured more than Jose Canseco.

I'm not sure how seriously. I'm sure at some point in time 'we' wanted him, too, much as it pains me to say that. Just seems unfair for us to blame Cincy for not moving him when we aren't in any way privy to the negotiations.Originally Posted by JeffWeaverFan

It just took longer than usual this year. Unfortunate, really.
There were reports all over that the White Sox wanted him and that the Red ownership did not want to trade him because they felt the organization was worth more with Griffey on the team than without him. As for us, I sincerely doubt we wanted him - he's exactly what we don't need. The Reds could have gotten rid of that contract, and they failed to do so.Originally Posted by WHIP

That sounds more like damage control from the Reds' front office.Originally Posted by JeffWeaverFan
