Royals load bases with no outs in the 8th (leading 4-3) - and fail to score.
There's a reason why these jokers have been swept 20 times this year.

Okay, explain this to me.
The White Sox has a 2.5 game lead in the division and their Magic number is 5.
The Angels have a 4 game lead in their division and their Magic number is also 5.
from http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/standings/index.jsp
How can that be?
I think it's because Cleveland has one less game than everyone else...

ChiSox lead by 3 in the loss column, so 5 is it.Originally Posted by rkh5donkey
Angels are up 3.5, but only 3 in the loss column so 5 is correct there as well.

The White Sox winning 3 straight has almost elminated any chance of them blowing their lead in the division. They have their 4 best pitchers starting for them this week in Detroit and they will probably have a magic number of 1 going into Friday's game at CLE.

Oh you gonna mess with Farnsworth, he ain't no joke.

K-Rod on in the ninth.
Scutaro leads it off with a homer.
4 -3 Angels with nobody out, nobody on.

They are once again a dangerous team for any opponent. Shields, Donnelly and Rodriguez have been used alot, but now, they get to have a week off before Tuesday's game 1.
They still have a chance to host the ALDS as they are 1 game less then BOS and NYY.
Hopefully, my team gets the chance to get revenge for 2002 starting next Tuesday.

Colon-Lackey in Games 1 and 2. Doesnt matter what order it is. Byrd is crafty and has had a very good ERA this season. And then Sciosia will have his choice to start either Santana (who won tonight) or Washburn.
If there facing Boston, they wont pitch Washburn again. I'm sure they dont mind starting anyone of their guys against the White Sox. And then of course, Washburn has been murder on the Yankees in the last 3 years.
They can use Santana in middle relief in the 5th and 6th if needed. Then of course, the big 3 for the finish.

The Angels have a lights out back end of the bullpen led by Scot Shields, Brendan Donnelly, and K-Rod, Francisco Rodriguez, but with K-Rod, you may never know. K-Rod can be dominant or throwing a hissyfit. They also don't have a situational lefty in their bullpen unless Jarrod Washburn can be that guy, but we all know what happened with Washburn giving up a longball to David Ortiz in Game 3 last year.Originally Posted by knickfan23

Is Alan Embree a better option than Tanyon Sturtze? I would go to Sturtze against the lefty over Embree.
Remember the Gabe White/Felix Heredia stuff. Game 6 of the 03 ALCS. Bases loaded, Heredia facing Damon lefty-lefty and he walks him on 4 pitches. Gabe White comes in to face Nixon lefty-lefty, and he gives up a 3 run homer.

True. True. I need pitchers who stay poised, have no fear, stays positive, throws quality strikes, be economical with their pitches, and gets hitters out from both sides no matter which side, lefty or right.Originally Posted by knickfan23

DRays lead 1-0 and are three outs away from taking another one from the Indians. The White Sox lead the Tigers 5-2 in the bottom of the 8th and could have a magic number of 2 after tonight.
DRays win 1-0. White Sox are up 5-2 in the 9th. If that score holds their magic number will be 2.
