Good point. He needed to protect the slot for the 11th or 12th inning, after his crack relief corpse (intentional spl) held the Indians scoreless for the 10th consecutive inning.

Tampa actually plays the sox pretty tough at home..

I expect schilling to get hammered again (sox may still win since tampa can't pitch) and kazmir to win his start.

The Sox have a six game road trip (TB and Baltimore), then a 7 game homestand (Toronto and NY) to finish the regular season.

After tomorrow, NY has a 7 game homestand with 3 against Toronto and 4 against Baltimore. Followed by a 7 game road trip against Baltimore and Boston.

Yanks are even in the loss column, which is fine. 6 game winning streak. 5-0 to start a road trip. No complaints. Yanks keep playing good ball- taking series', sweeping the odd one....and they are in.

I don't know. If they blow the division, you have to figure Cleveland for a 5-1 record in their head to head games. Say the Yanks or Sox go 4-2 while the Chisox go 1-5 in those games. Well.....there's much of your difference. Chicago has a 4 game lead on the Yanks, by the way, not 4.5.

LOL, I forgot to add the last sentence to my post.

I'm calling for the WS to hold on to the division with the RS winning the east. Yanks and Indians will be within a game of the wild card.

Ohhhh so sooorry. That is not the correct answer, but thanks for playing. Your parting gift will be front row seats to see the Red Sox Players improve their golf games this October.

Red Sox caught a break yesterday with Ellis, their hottest hitter since the ASB getting food poisoning from eating leftovers the night before...this article also says the A's are probably getting Crosby back early this week...I thought he'd be out the rest of the year:

I'd trade positions with ChiSox in a heartbeat. They still have some margin for error.

I see it differently. The Sox are utterly failing at every level right now whereas the Yankees, I think, are rolling. If the Sox can right themselves, then yes, I'd rather be them.

Who are these Indians and what the hell is up with the White Sox lately?

Is anyone rooting for a particular team in the Central and West Division?

Ozzie Guillen may be the worst manager in baseball. He's so intent on showing everybody how great he is that he alienates his players and gives away runs and outs.

From leading manager of the year candidate to leading goat of the decade candidate. Poor Ozzie - maybe his craziness didn't work out after all.

I thought he should have just put in Dustin Hermanson to get the last out in the 8th instead of Bobby Jenks (after Damaso Marte left). But, he didn't do too well in the 9th anyway so who knows what would've happened.

Although it's still a long shot, for the first time you've got to consider the possibility that the ChiSox not only lose the Central - but miss out on the Wildcard.

I'm still hoping ChiSox take the last two of this series. Either that or get swept.

As long as the Yanks are ahead of both teams, I don't care who wins the West . I will root for the team that is playing against the Central team that is closest in the standings to the Yankees.

The White Sox are up 6-5 in the 9th, but the Indians have Jhonny Peralta on board with Travis Hafner at the plate, Bobby Jenks pitching.
