    That's a bit dramatic, no?

The Yankees and Red Sox are still tied in the loss column and there are two more months of baseball left to play!

You're f*cking kidding me with that, right?

A game in July the Sox BARELY won, has now cost us the division? That's a good one.

Are the Yankees really looking to obtain Baez?

Still way too many games to call the division.

To be honest, when a closer is flirting with a 3 ERA you almost have to expect this.

Clearly, you guys are screwed. You should just go ahead and forfeit the rest of your games, and save yourselves the trouble.

I think Lou knew full well he should pull Baez and just left him in to twist in the wind.

As for some of Torre's decisions...well...I'm not sure where they come from.

I thought the Yankees put the Red Sox in their place just fine by taking 3 out of 4 at Fenway not too long ago.

Oh, that's not what you meant? Sorry.

Shouldn't you be off losing to the Blue Jays right about now?

Oh, they're playing the Angels this week. Sorry.

I would save the trash talking until your team is actually in the playoffs. I recommend that for Red Sox fans too.

Anyone who's not a "fanboy" has to realize how flawed every team is in the American League this year. (and that includes the White Sox after what I saw this weekend)

I honestly have no idea who's going to win the AL East, never mind the ALCS.

    Fun times (gulp) are ahead.

Then why not direct your comment to your Red Sox buddy who decided to joke around first?

No need to lecture me like I'm a child. It was facetious remark. Nothing more, nothing less.

You were the last person who posted in the thread and it was late. Sue me

I wasn't lecturing you. I was stating a fact. Did you notice I included my fellow Red Sox fans in my post too?

just looking at the end of the year schedules for both teams.....wow!!! the division could flip flop all over the place. Sox, Yanks, and O's are playing each other during the final three weeks....hopefully, we are still in it by then

gonna be a nerve racking 20 days.....not to mention my wife and I are expecting twins in October

    Re: Todays Red Sox lineup

If you guys thought yesterday's lineup was bad, today's is much worse:

    Damon CF
    Rent SS
    Ortiz DH
    Olerud 1B
    Mueller 3B
    Millar LF
    Cora 2B
    Mirabelli C
    Stern RF

Brutal. Olerud 4th? Cora in front of Belli? Mueller 5th? I'd be worried if we were facing anybody but Seth McClung
And the lord said "Go Sox"

an interview today on Boston radio station WEEI 850 AM, Terry Francona said he told Ramirez over the weekend he would give him today’s game off, but that last night he asked his star slugger if he’d reconsider and play today because the team was “in a bit of a bind” after Nixon’s injury. According to Francona, Ramirez said he still needed the game off.
