Unbelieveable.
Sori breaks it up in the 8th![]()
Oooooh, that was close to a base hit down the leftfield line.

I was just about to start this. He's faced the minimum (walked first hitter of the game).
I don't believe the Rangers have even hit a ball to the outfield yet.
I can't figure out if this is more sad for the Rangers or more impressive for the A's.
Jay Payton hit a HR.

Yeah, but it was off of Wayback Wasdin, so it shouldn't count in the stats.Originally Posted by JDPNYY

Through 6.
The Rangers have not hit a ball that was caught by an outfielder yet tonight.
Error #3 on the night for the Rangers.
why is this game not on EI? wtf
Nice catch Dan Johnson!

Rangers finally hit a ball to the outfield but Kotsay runs it down. No-no through 7.
What an absolute beauty by Mark Kotsay.

Now THAT'S a &%#$ centerfielder!! Defense, Defense *clap, clap, clap*
Nice glove, boys.
this is bs. why is this game not on somewhere? especially EI. i got to see raffy's 3000 on it, but why is the As game not being shown?
LOL!!! The Ranger players put jumper cables on two of the bats in the dugout bat rack.
And this is the vaunted Rangers offense we hear about all the time? Sheeesh.

And the vaunted 8th is near. Showdown: Barry Zito looking to make history vs. Alfonso Soriano to spoil history again. Who will win?

It's the vaunted all-or-nothing home run Ranger offense. When they're on, they're the best. When they're not, they're the worst.Originally Posted by True Yankee-ette13

Speaking of hacking for homers...Mench hits one to break it up. 7-1.
Nice try Barry Zito. Now pitch for another A's win.

Props to David Dellucci for energizing the bats with the jumper cables.

No, you didn't. It was Kevin Mench, not Sori.Originally Posted by deranged2005

Barajas just doubled (not that it matters now).
Barry once said in an interview he rather play guitar like Jimi Hendriks then get a no-no
And don't forget the Rangers pitching staff has been hampered by injuries.Originally Posted by True Yankee-ette13

Zito's season = turned around
His past 5 starts:
6/22 @SEA 7.1 IP 4 H 1 ER
6/28 SEA 7.0 IP 6 H 1 ER
7/3 CWS 8.0 IP 6 H 2 ER
7/9 @CWS 7.0 IP 2 H 1 ER
Tonight TEX 8.0 IP 2 H 1 ER
In fact, after reviewing his game log, I think that he's had a very good season already. Many games he 'should have won' but did not. Athletics haven't been able to score runs for him - 4 times this year he's lost games after going at least 6 and allowing no more than 2 ER, so he'll turn in a fairly ugly record. Here's to hoping for a strong second half.![]()
Amazing what these Oakland pitchers have done these past two days. Harden yesterday and Zito today, amazing.
