By the way, if anyone does see this, could you let me know if it's safe for 7 year-olds. Thanks.

Oohhhh. I didn't get that. Why doesn't someone just kill the f*cker already? It's not like death means anything in comic books.

The villian is played by Ken Watanabe who was outstanding in The Last Samaurai.

Don't forget Cillian Murphy as "the Scarecrow". This has to be the single best cast comic book film in history.

I just saw the movie, it was awesome. Definitely one of the best I've seen in a long time. The 2+ hours seemed to fly by. And it sets up the next one well too.

But he can be hurt if you throw a rock at him.

The film was GREAT. I wouldn't even qualify my comments by saying it's the best in the genre - it's just a fantastic film, period.

Superman has super logic and wit. It's far superior to any human. Lex Luthor would kick any of the corny Batman villains. And sure Batman isn't hurt by kryptonite, but he can just slip in the shower and die.

I'll give you the realism, because Superman's an alien.

Superman is reactionary. He just reacts to his enemies movement. Batman is 2-3 steps ahead of his attacker. He is proactive in his fighting.

    Q: Are these real?

A: Yep, they're all authentic and unaltered. They appear to you today exactly as they did the day they were first published.

Except that whole appearing on a computer screen part..

Someone told me that "Batman Begins" goes back to the Tim Burton/Michael Keaton style of Batman instead of the George Clooney/Val Kilmer movies. Is this true, b/c if it is, then I'm hitting the cinemas this week.

Better than all of that. No camp whatsoever, but it does have a sense of humor.

It's more out of the recent Marvel style films.

Superman is reactionary b/c he's powerful enough to have that luxury. If Batman's not ahead of his enemies, he dies.

    Yup yup.

If you squared them off against each other in neutral territory, Superman would win.

Batman Begins was excellent. Bale was tremendous as both tormented Bruce Wayne and billionaire a-hole Bruce Wayne.

I'd put it right up there with the Keaton/Nicholson version of Batman. Great movie.

I've never heard of Thundercats, but I loved He-Man! Skeletor ruled, man. Transformers was OK, too. Other than He-Man, I liked his co-hort, Shera: Princess of Power! It was all about the girl-power. The other ones I loved were Smurfs, Care Bears, Rainbow Brite, etc. Girly stuff.

Getting back to the topic at hand, I cannot wait to see this movie. It looks damned cool.

Oh, and did I mention that Christian Bale is SMOKIN'?!

    Re: Batman Begins

Saw it last night, imo the best Batman flick ever. The only issue I had was how dumb Katie Holmes' character was, I'm not sure if it was her fault in being a bad actress or the way that her character was written that made her suck. The villain was great, the screenplay was well-written and adapted to screen. Bale is Batman, screw Keaton. There were a few things I didn't like, the bat-tank is a little much, also the way the main crisis of the movie was never really resolved I mean how did all the people return to normal? They never really answer that question, did they all die, WTF? Anyways, other than that it ruled, I'll likely see it again.

I loved Burton's BATMAN, but I"d have to slot this one ahead of it. Chris Nolan is a much better storyteller than Tim Burton.

The Burton Batman is all about Jack as The Joker. I thought he was unbelievable in that role, it made it an awesome movie.

Bale is the best of the Batmans though, This was a great movie. I'm actually tempted to see it again and I hardly ever go see movies twice in the theatre.

Same here. I think I may have to go again Sunday.

I know fanboys were angry over Nicholson's Joker, but I thought he was great. That character scared the crap out of me the first time I saw the movie.

The problem with Burton's BATMAN movies is they were awful the moment the "action/adventure" portions kicked in. Burton can't direct action to save his life.

In all honesty it would be unfair to even try to compare them. i won't.

IMO, Burton's rendition was way off and has nothing to do with the real story. I won't compare this to the others in any way. Entirely new to me.

That I disagree with. Nolan is going to get a legit actor, not a "special effects" personality (a Nicholson-type would look stupid in one of these films now).

It's almost a shame Gary Oldman was cast as Gordon. He'd make a fantastic Joker.

Even though this movie is closer to the real Batman story, it is inevitable that there will be comparisons to the performance. It is only natural when two guys play the same character.

As long as whoever it is doesn't try and do an impression of Jack I think he'll be fine.

It's almost a shame Gary Oldman was cast as Gordon. He'd make a fantastic Joker.
Considering the Joker is an insane, homicidal, genocidal maniac I'd expect him to have a bit of an out there personality.

Oldman does play a great psycho...then again he really is a psycho.

Crispin Glover would be a good Joker too.
