eh, i dont really care just as long some horse wins the first 2 races. it's always alot more fun when a horse wins the first 2 cause then you have all this excitement going into the final race, but if not it's just not that entertaining.

I guess i want anyone but the Boss' horse to win.

Anybody know what time the Derby is? I have to work 4:30 to 10:30 on Saturday, so I have a feeling I'm going to miss it. I'll just tape it and watch when I get home.

How about Bandini a 6 to 1 shot? George's horse will finish fourth and out of the big money!

Coverage from Steeple Downs starts at 5:00 pm the race is probably 5:30 pm.

The Boss' horse looks real good, he won his last race by 17 1/2 links, thats just crazy.

I haven't been able to pay my usual attention to the race because of a family crisis, but I am still going to bet the race. It'll take my mind off things. So here are my picks:

    Bellamy Road
    Noble Causeway
    Afleet Alex

    Longshot: Coin Silver

No clue. I'm trying to decide if I want George's horse to win or get humilated. What's the reaction to either going to be on the team, a long-past good move or a stupid one? If you want a major shake up, a couple of heads severed and some dead weight thrown out, I'd root for his horse to stop halfway through and begin grazing on the infield grass.

I also see today's Yankee victory as a good omen for George.

Bellamy Road is gonna kick butt today, too.

Let's go Bellamy Road...why? Because I don't really care otherwise...no reason not to root for Georgie's horse

    Re: kentucky derby

Go Bellamy Road! Do it for the Yankees as well as George.

    Re: kentucky derby

Darn....well...the Yankees better start performing...because George has nothing else to distract him now...

    Re: kentucky derby

Damn. A long shot won. No one picked Giacomo. Bellamy Road was squeezed. Now the Boss will turn all his attention to the Yankees. It will be rocky road from now on.

All the top breeders outsmarted each other early in the race. I HATE how they hit the horses with those whips.

    Re: kentucky derby

the worst thing about a longshot winning the KD, is that you know its not gonna win the Preakness

and unless a horse wins the first 2 races....the Belmont is pointless and boring as hell

    Jesus Montero since June 1 (286 at-bats):
    .325/.386/.605/.991
    July 1 (182 at-bats):
    .348/.417/.658/1.075

    Re: kentucky derby

Mel's job is on shaky ground, and if it weren't for Moose's performance today this race could have put Mel on a long dusty trail, aboard a losing horse. A bad outing by Brown tomorrow may throw George over the edge.
