You actually got to choose the keepers from 5 teams. Everyone else had to settle with the keepers from one team - which was the point that was brought up last year by Terry so Vito & I didn't get any keepers.

Did you not read the constitution when you were rifling through last year's threads? Article 1.1 says that to play in this league you have to put up with constant whining and bitching by Miko.

We got to root through the dregs of the 5 worst teams. You have keepers this year. Is it helping you?

But several of those teams traded away all their players for keeper prospects. So they were keeper-heavy.

Except of course, for Danny Kolb.

Well... I made all the wrong choices if you look back at the critiques of the Keeper Draft. I blew it. Now I'll just have to live with my mistakes.

I hardly think of getting to pick from over 100 players (or 1/4 of the players in the entire league from 2004) for keepers as "the dregs" but I will save that argument for another post.

I ended up with crappy keepers because I "whored myself out" towards the end of the season trading all of my keeper eligible players for big name players to help me in the stretch drive. On the opposite end of the spectrum I know for a fact that Junior's Bashers (a disbanded franchise) unloaded many of their top players for keepers. I could have done a lot better in the keeper department if I had thrown all of my keepers away and picked from the 100 players that you guys got to choose from.

But before I go into a 30 page synopsis of how I ended up with a really crappy team and how I will use an * next to all of the Marauders 2005 stats let me just announce that next year's expansion teams will automatically get 5 keepers, a top 5 draft pick, as well as an automatic playoff berth. God forbid you should have to actually think in this league - we want to make it really easy for you so you can sleepwalk to the finals.

There I am done - thanks for listening to my rant.

I didn't get any keepers, wah wah wah. I didn't have any keepers and made the playoffs, but now I have keepers and I'm 1-4, and I can't explain that, so I'll whine more about how I didn't get any keeper last year even though I almost made the Championship game, and I would have if I hadn't choked against the Squeaks. Wah, wah, wah.

Why do you have "Best pitchers" when you only list one? Wouldn't "Pitcher of the day" be better?

Why is it necessary to list all the negative pitchers? You don't list all the positive ones. Such emphasis on negativity.

The Lumberjacks are officially 4-1, and sittin' pretty atop the Mantle Division after vanquishing the defending champs for the second time this season.

Just to show how record is determined by WHO you play...the Lumberjacks would be 0-5 if they played the same schedule as Guys With Wood.

Week 1: Springfield Nuclear Powerplant 206, Lumberjacks 204
    Week 2: Tugger's Sluggers 346, The Lumberjacks 274
Week 3: NY Bombers 327.5, The Lumberjacks 286.5
Week 4: Nomo Lookalikes Who Sell Pizza in the Pavilions 282.5, The Lumberjacks 273.5
    Week 5: Tugger's Sluggers 378, The Lumberjacks 363.5

And Guys With Wood (1-4) would be (3-2) -- and 0.5 points from (4-1) -- if they played same schedule as the Ligers have this year:

Week 1: Guys with Wood 240.5, Michigan Wolverines 201
Week 2: Nomo Lookalikes Who Sell Pizza in the Pavilions 340, Guys with Wood 249.5
Week 3: Guys with Wood 282.5, Italian Ice 193
    Week 4: Saxmania's Swingers 253.5, Guys with Wood 253
Week 5: Guys with Wood 245.5, Evil Empire 212.5

Fantasy Baseball: Larrupin' Lou's; New York Knights.
