It also bothers me that some fans regard every owner as cheap because he refuses to go into his own pockets to help in a small market. Sure they're millionaires, they own sports teams so they have to be millionaires. But how much you're valued at and how much you have to move around aren't the same thing. And most of these guys are business men. Its poor business to take money away from profitable ventures and put it into a venture in the red. It might be a worthwhile shortterm move to make in the hopes that the market will come around to support you but the odds of that working in NY or LA are higher than Milwaukee or Tampa Bay by a great bit. But a good deal of fans seem to think that the only motivator for not using your own money or diverting funds or profits from other businesses into your ballclub is cheapness/dishonesty. Sometimes its just a bad business decision. These guys might want to win but they also probably want to stay in the black. It won't do any good for them if they go bankrupt/sell the team. Some guys are cheap and dishonest. Not all.
