With a consistent kicker, 10-1 at this point could have been a definite possibility. They've yet to lose a game by more than 6--which is both sort of a good thing and also very, very painful.Originally Posted by dabomb2045

Until Dayne's run, they couldn't run on Dallas either. One easy FG and you're not making any of these points.Originally Posted by RIyankee

Anyway, this next game is probably the most important they will play since the '03 playoffs.

Well, now...with the gints losing, our Boyz will have 10 days to prep for the big game this coming Sunday......for sole possession of first place.

Dallas couldn't stop Rod Smith and the Denver running game at the same time. If Bledsoe didn't throw two picks, they wouldn't need to rely on their kicker.
Besides, if not for an gift fumble by a sure-handed Mike Anderson, Cundiff's miss would have been irrelevant.

The Cowboys showed they can play with the Broncos. As for the Chargers game, Dallas's defense has improved over the season so it isn't a given that the Chargers would beat Dallas NOW even with Gates.Originally Posted by RIyankee

Dallas also controlled the Seattle Seahawks for much of the game til the end...
Now for the Colts, the only consolation is that the Bengals showed Indy can be scored upon. So a team with a good offense and decent defense HAS a chance against the Colts.

broncos and chargers are not in the same class as the colts.. unfortunately the nfc doesn't have anybody in the same class as the colts either.. i'd be shocked if indy doesn't win the big one..Originally Posted by RIyankee

its one thing to play them in the cold and snow like the Pats were able to the last few seasons....I think this team is just too good to lose when the weather isnt a factor

The way they've looked through 11, I'm not so sure the cold & snow would even stop the Colts this year.Originally Posted by dabomb2045

What's the weather forecast for today's game? I see that its snowing this morning.
This does not bode well for my Boyz.
listening to the local pregame show is depressing.. they are all acting like the cowboys don't have a chance..

I didn't get to watch any of the game today...I'm in Atlanta on business so, obviously, the local Fox channel was showing Falcons/Panthers.
Based on the final score it looks like the Cowboys had a chance to win it in the second half. How did Bledsoe, Jones, and the rest of the offense perform...was it the Giants D playing exceptionally well or did the Cowboys O just stink it up?

Ugh...just saw on ESPN News that Dallas had 4 turnovers...one fumble returned for a touchdown. This is unacceptable...Dallas need to be more consistent if they want to have a chance at making the playoffs...and to do that they're going to have to win out against KC, WAS, CAR, and STL. That's going to be tough.

ugly game.. giants outplayed dallas.. bledsoe stinks.. his decent numbers early in the year were a mirage

Dallas played like crap today...and they certainly deserved to lose

It's really the Dallas o-line that's the culprit... Bledsoe is what he is... an immobile qb who's frazzled by pressure. When the line was protecting him earlier this year, he looked very good. However, as the protection started breaking down (starting with the loss of Flozell Adams), it exposed Bledsoe. At this point, a more mobile qb is what the Cowboys need since the offensive line is wearing down on Drew's mind... He's starting to imagine pressure at times when there ISN'T pressure. He's gettin' the happy feet and making bad decisions now.Originally Posted by KLJ
dabomb2045, more correctly, it's the Dallas offense that played like crap. The defense did a decent job as always. They kept Dallas in the game as they've done all year...

What ever happened to Quincy "The Next Vick" Carter? At this point, a more mobile qb is what the Cowboys need

I have been on this site for awhile and I just found this thread..
I never liked Drew Bledsoe, but it was better then what they had. He either has a fantastic game or he has a horrible game. No in between

Agreed. Bledsoe can't succeed playing behind that O-line. Dallas must improve that unit in the offseason (Priority #1).Originally Posted by dabomb2045

Obviously I want them to win the division and get a home playoff game. But if they do start on the road....I really hope its against the Giants so I can get tickets again.

That was a great win for Dallas. They did deserve to win the game. But that Trent Green red zone sack/fumble and 59 yard ensuing return was a gift.Originally Posted by Casey37

Please. KC letting the Felons roll downfield and score the go ahead TD was a choke job.
it's funny.. we are going from hating the chiefs to being their biggest fans in the span of a week..

I have a bias towards the AFC. Coming into this game, I didn't give the Cowboys and their sub-par O-line a chance against the Chiefs. I hate being wrong.Originally Posted by KLJ
BTW I'm glad that the Cowboys won simply for Drew's sake. He's taken plenty of criticism lately, some of it deserved, some of it not. I've met Drew a few times when he played for NE and I have an autographed picture of him holding up a Pats jersey #1, shortly after he was drafted #1 overall by the Pats in 1993. I've been meaning to have it framed.
Nice win by the Cowboys over Carolina today...even better job of Cundiff taking the fall...he saved his job for at least another game.
So, what needs to happen now for the Cowboys to make the playoffs...will a win next week against St. Louis and a Washington loss to Philly do it, or do the Vikings play into it somehow?
"Football doesn't build character. It eliminates the weak ones." -- DKR
We can make the playoffs if we win and EITHER Washington or Carolina loses. But if they both win, there might be one other way for us to get in, and that's if the Giants and Tampa Bay both lose.
It's very unlikely (the Giants play Oakland and Tampa Bay plays New Orleans), but if that happens, Washington would win the East and Carolina would win the South. The Giants and Bucs would be in a tiebreaker for the first wild card. IF the Giants win that, we'd be in the tiebreaker with the Bucs for the second wild card.
Both of those tiebreakers would be decided by strength of victory. At this moment, Dallas and Tampa Bay are tied with 67 wins (for the teams they've beaten), with the Giants at 65. But the games left this week and those played next week could push Dallas and the Giants ahead of Tampa Bay (Dallas and the Giants both have more opponents' games left this week).
