No, it wouldn't be fair. Keep him reserved. I screwed it up, no reason to change anything now.

Is it just me, or the stats are sort of messed up on the "Fantasy GameCenter" page on Sportsline? They list Suzuki at 1-5, SB for today's game, and 2-10, 2SB for both games. Actually today he had 2 doubles, a run and no SB.

1-5 is how the box score has him. If he hit two doubles, it will get corrected overnight. Don't sweat the live scoring.

Thanks E, just wanted to get that cleared up. Also wanted to say that I would have no problem if Chris decided to move him to minors squad. That would be very understandable in my opinion.

Odd....Josh Bard went 2/4 with 2R...yet it shows no stats for him.

EDIT: Looks like none of the stats from the Hou/SD game have been recorded yet. Same in the other league.

    I have a question:

Can I move guys back and forth between the starting line-up and the mL roster as long as they still qualify for the mL roster?

No, once you promote someone to the ML roster, they can only be demoted to the mL roster if their MLB team has done so.

I have Humberto Sanchez on my mL roster.

When I pull down his 'Status' - 'Injured' is an option.

Am I able to put him on my DL and pick up another mL?

How would that affect his keeper status?

Interesting. He IS currently on the ML DL, so I would think that if you put him on the DL he's on your ML roster.

So by putting him on the DL, I'm effectively promoting him?

If the Yankees put him in the mL when he comes off - I can then send him down as well, right?

Yes if he is on the ML and not the mL disabled list, then you have effectively promoted him to the majors by putting him on the DL.

But yes, if he is demoted to the minors then you can put him back in the minors here, provided you have room.

yes. just let me know if you add a FA mL player so I can adjust the salary.
However...if you add a FA with rookie eligibility to your ML roster, then demote him, he is a ML FA with a 1-year, $10 contract...not a $5 Minors contract.

You must have done it a minute before rosters locked.

Strange - I got stats for 3/4 players in the trade.

I dropped Broxton to make room for Joba, but I still got stats for Broxton - yet I also got stats for Grady, Rollins and Loney - none for Joba (who didn't have any, but he's not even listed on the Live Scoring page for my team).

Rosters locked at 12:35pm yesterday because of the 1:05 games. Any moves made after 12:35 count for today...and you would still accumulate stats for any players dropped after 12:35pm for yesterday.

And don't go by live scoring...it's not accurate. The overnight stats show both Chamberlain and Broxton on your roster.

EDIT: Chamberlain was not on your roster because he was put in as a "reserve" because there was no room on your active roster. This also gave you an illegal roster for yesterday and no points.

In fairness (because the illegal roster was the result of a trade transaction) I will fix things and you will get updated overnight.

This means: you will LOSE any stats Broxton would have accumulated...but since you got zero points for having an illegal roster, you will gain points for everyone elses stats.

    Re: Auction League Questions

    Just to clarify my position...

I will fix rosters if they become illegal due to a trade. This is because I can propose a trade to say, Sycamore Style, and he accepts it 1 minute before rosters lock. By the time I check my roster, I am illegal. This is not fair, because I did not have a chance to fix my roster.

However, if a team adds a player to their roster and does not make a corresponding drop, for example, I will not fix that problem because in that case, owners are responsible for their own actions.

You do not have to promote him. However...

If you promote him, you cannot demote him unless he is demoted in real life.
If you promote him and he exceeds the 50 IP/130 AB limits, you cannot demote him, even if his real life MLB sends him down again.

He can leave him there as long as he wants...if he exceeds the 130 AB he can stay in the minors, but once promoted cannot be sent down again.

Just curious - if that's the case, why was I not able to keep Adam Jones as a minor leaguer this year? I never promoted him (although the M's did last fall).

Because of the off season. If a player (like Adam Jones) exceeds 50 IP or 130 AB during a season, the next season he must be kept with a Major League keeper. You can't keep a non-rookie in the mL from one season to the next.

Jones had 139 career AB after the 2007 season.

    E-
It looks like my roster was illegal for April 7th and I therefore didn't score any points that day. It looks like when you added LaPorta and Wieters to my roster, you added them as active and that made my roster illegal. Could you make sure what I'm seeing is what happened, and if so, fix it so that my roster is legal and counts that day? Thanks.

No, to put someone in the mL they have to actually be in the mL.

Another question: if I make a trade, by noon today, will it be considered for today's games, or do I have to wait until it's completed? (on yahoo, it always takes a couple of days for trades to be validated)

As soon as the trade is completed, it takes effect. it can sometimes be a problem if it causes a roster to be illegal, because it was right before rosters locked, but in that case I am always happy to make rosters legal again...

    E:

What's the policy for guys coming off the DL? Do I have a certain amount of days before I have to take him off my DL before my roster becomes illegal or is it illegal as soon as that person has his DL status is changed at sportsline. I ask because I have multiple guys who should be coming off the DL in the next few days.

You have 7 days to activate them after their first appearance; then they will be automatically dropped by me.

SO...if say, Jorge Posada is activated off the DL on June 3rd, but because of damp weather he does not play until June 5th, then the clock starts on June 6th. If you don't activate him by the 13th, then on the 14th he is released.

If a player under contract is cut - the penalty is:

    - lose player's salary from $260 auction purse

A player in the middle of a multi-year contract is cut, the team loses $1 from their $260 auction purse next year, for each year left on the contract. So if someone has 2 years left (2009 and 2010) they lose $2 off their budget in 2009.

Was Billy Butler reserved by someone?

If so - doesn't he have to be picked up now that he's been recalled?

Actually; that's a good question. If he were a regular call up; absolutely, within 7 days of re-activation. However, it's due to a DL situation, for mL players if the player is called up for a DL player they do not need to be activated.

Either way is cool, E, nothing specific in the constitution I believe.
