    Vegas is booked!

    I just booked my flight out to Vegas for my annual March Madness trip with my closest friends from high school.

    I am to freaking excited right now. March Madness in Vegas is the absolute apex of the Vegas experience. I call it the Perfect Storm, as you have the usual Vegas debauchery PLUS:

    1) March Madness
    2) Spring breakers
    3) St Patty's Day

    WHHHHHHAAAATTTT?!?!?!?

    Craziness.

    Anyone else been/going out there for The Perfect Storm?

    I'll book everything except the married part. Unless an annullment is also included in that.

    I'd lay 5 - 1 on that. ok..maybe leave out the 'married' but definitely 'engaged' at some point!..

    I went to Vegas in August 2003. I had a blast but I was only 19 at the time. It was the only down part.

    Dude's going to pull a Ned Flanders and run away from his cocktail waitress-guy, only to have her show up a couple of weeks later looking for money, lovin', and his pink shirt.

    Edited to add that I was going to correct "cocktail waitress-guy," since I meant cocktail waitress-wife, but . . . it's staying.

    Man... I went in November for my friend's 21st... a lot of her friends, alot of her sister's friends... good times all around... we stayed in the MGM.... they all stayed in the venetian(we got a great deal w/ the MGM).. so it sucked having to go all the way over there.. but it's all good.

    Nothing big was happening that weekend, sports wise... so the sports book wasn't too crazy. I could see how it would be during march madness, but other than the sports book, it'd probably be pretty much the same, no?

    This will be my 2nd time during March Madness. I was there 2 years ago. Its bizarre watching these games in the sportsbooks. Instead of cheering for teams when the lead changes, people cheer the point spread.

    It was a crazy weekend, and I expect much of the same.

    Not even close to the same. You forgot the ingredients to the perfect storm:

    1) March Madness (the most exciting sports betting period of the year)

    2) Spring Break (I can't tell me how many times I heard "I don't usually do this sort of thing, but this is my last spring break before I graduate, so I just want to have fun")

    3) St Patty's day (The most drunken holiday in the U.S.)

    Vegas + The above ingredients = Uber Vegas

    We'll be there right before you, because we're going for the NASCAR race. I haven't been since '94, which was a great time to be there...late May '94:

    1. Yankees in first place;
    2. Rangers-Devils playoffs;
    3. Knicks-Bulls playoffs.

    I spent one extremely happy day in the sports book just loving life and all those TV's!

    I have been to Vegas during the madness and found it to be 3-1 guys, more like a sausage fest if you ask me. The other time that I went wasn't during the madness and I noticed a lot more of the opposite sex. Just my two cents.

    Granted it wasn't during St. Patty's either.

    When I read Vegas is booked... I guess I was thinking "booked up." NASCAR Las Vegas is there it think starting this weekend and room rates jumped & it's real hard to find a place for next week.

    Sounds like you are indeed pumped and ready for action Kev! Hope you win LOTS of money and have a great time with your friends.

    Not really, no. I'll throw a couple of bucks in a slot machine if I have a few loose singles if we're all sitting around waiting for someone, but I won't ever get money out for the purpose of gambling.

    I've never sat down at a table to play anything.

    And I won't, either. I have a HIGHLY addictive personality, but I'm fairly analytical about things. Therefore, unless I'm willing to make gambling my living and work diligently to beat the system, I know that I don't have the control I would need over a situation in order for me to wager money...so I don't do it.

    What happened with Tampa?

    I'm going to be hammered an hour into the flight.

    And I'm gauranteeing that I'll have the whole cabin singing songs 3 hours in.

    I had the Tampa-Vegas trip set up, and my friend couldn't come up with the money as of this weekend. I was looking forward to a Yankee Spring Training game followed by a Pink Pony sweep topped off w/ a Crazy Horse Too run but oh well.
