    When you graduate you won't think about or care about any of them. They'll go about their lives and you'll go about yours. Trust me, they ain't worth even mentioning. I'm sure whoever is seeing the things you're writing is having a nice little chuckle and a certain degree of satisfaction with how much they get to you. Don't give it to them. You seem like a pretty unique individual who has no interest in being like everyone else. Part of that is not caring about those who do spend their lives trying to "fit in" and trying so hard to make it known you are like that can be considered part of the realm we call a "poser".
    The only reason I do it is because I know it gets to them. They're the type that can't be criticized, they're too dependant on their "status" as "popular." All day, I'm surrounded by people saying "isn't she so hot?" about sluts that are only hot because of how much damn make-up they wear, and the moment I said, "nah, look past the make-up, she's hideous" I get jumped on for being "gay" (plus, really, after that hot Saturday night, when you wake up and are lying naked right next to her, all of that nice pretty makeup will be worn off... but that's regardless. ). I just got to the point where it annoyed me, and where I figured out that these people get driven over the top when they find out that everyone doesn't like them. They think everyone wants to be like them (hell, one of them went up to me once and said, "hey, you gotta go shopping at like Abercrombie, and then go out and buy some Air Force Ones, they'll make you look hella cool" - and the sad thing is that is a direct quote).

    I'm not the type to go hunting down those I hate and telling it to their faces, nor am I the type to go around to everyone saying, "hey, don't you hate him so much?" Personally, I can't stand those types of people either. Nor do I mention specific names on MySpace, or any other site. That's just begging for attention, really, I can't stand that either.

    My MySpace is in my profile, or if yor hate copying and pasting, my name on there is Face of a Stranger (I think I'm the only one on MySpace with that name, well, considering it's not the title of any crappy emo songs, I'm not surprised). Feel free to add me, I'd appreciate it.

    Not to knock your opinion..but I think AF1s are alright. They're a nice looking plain shoe that doesn't say "Reebok Classic" or "K-Swiss" on it, but if someone is saying you'll get more attention because of it then they're full of crap because it seems like every 4 people you look at in school are wearing them. I don't know much 'bout Abercrombie though..

    Do you have profile codes?

    If you do, look for this and change where it says:

    body{
    background-color:ffffff;
    background-image:url("http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/feverspell/pink135.jpg");
    background-position:0%;
    background-repeat:repeat;
    background-attachment:fixed;}

    See, I don't use those editors. I edit the code manually.

    Try uploading it to another site, or change the format of the picture (if jpeg, change to bitmpap, if bitmap change to jpeg)

    I just use the editors, and then sometimes make minor changes manually. In other words, I have no idea how to change a background image.

    I have this code in my "interests and personality" section:

    I use Thomas' MySpace editor (yea, the one everybody uses ), as for it allowing hotlinking, I haven't tried it, but I think you can.

    I agree and disagree.

    NYYRules#1 is perhaps the most intelligent 16 year old I have ever sort-of met. I use sort of because I have only met him via the forum.

    However, what I pick up from his "no interest in being like everyone else" is that he wants to be like everyone else. Sadly, I knew kids in high school just like that. They didn't have the trendy clothes, or listen to the trendy bands. Therefore the rich snob always degraded them. So the unpopular kids did the opposite of what everyone else was doing. Just starved for attention. Positive or negative, it didn't matter.

    This is exactly what it is.. look..

    That's just begging for attention, really, I can't stand that either.
    Which contradicts:

    The only reason I do it is because I know it gets to them
    EG - Giving yourself attention in a negative light.

    See, I was always friends with everyone. I made everyone feel welcome. If there was a party, I would take one of the so called "losers." Let them have fun.

    NYY - Look, you're a smart kid, but you need to mature. Sure, there are the people who think their popularity matters. In reality, those who think they're the King/Queen of the school, most people don't like them. Except those that are like them. I went to a Preppy school and the majority of the kids are good. Don't judge them. Get to know them. Be yourself and they will accept you. Don't go around trying to piss them off. You'll learn in due time. Plus, those rich kids who look down on you, will be kissing your ass at some point in life.

    I was well liked, but I wasn't trendy by any means. Why was I? Because I did my own thing and had a good personality. I was a rocker, who hated Dave Matthews, I smoked, I bought my clothes at Filenes, I didn't have a girlfriend... but I was liked. I was just me... people like that. Just don't make a point of trying to irritate people.

    It's less starving for attention as it is transforming it really. I'm not the type of person to dress a certain way just to stand out. Personally, I just speak my mind about certain things which annoy me, or which I can't stand. There are some good preppy people at my school, and I'm even friends with a few of them, but most of the people at my school aren't good people. Just yesterday, a whole group of people decided to stash their cigarettes in different people's hoodies in my study hall, and sadly, I was wearing a hoodie, listening to music and doing homework, and not paying attention, and then I reach back and feel a pack of cigs. Eh, it's a great way to waste money if anything (even though they were going to try to get us all suspended for having cigs in school, but luckily I felt them before anybody noticed anything). Sure, that's a small sample, but this kind of stuff goes on everyday there.

    Everybody will get attention at some point in their life. It's unavoidable. Even in a school of 2100 students, people will notice you at some point. They might even notice you for never noticing you before (another example from yesterday, in my Algebra class, some kid on the other side of the room answered a question, we all looked over and just about said "who is that? was he ever in this class before?", and then all of us started trying to figure out who the heck he was. still have no clue). Attention is inevitable. I personally couldn't care if its positive, negative, neutral, or anything. I don't look to make enemies, but when you put 2100 teens together, there's bound to be some looking for you to be an enemy. I'm just not afraid to speak what's on my mind.

    That being said, I've gotten many comments from people I don't even know at my own school that said they agree with me. So its worked for positive, negative, and no attention at all. No matter what somebody says, it will draw attention. And if I have a soapbox to stand on, I'm bound to use it to the fullest. If it draws negative attention, so be it, I doubt I'd ever associate with those people anyways, and I doubt most of them would ever get along with me.

    I don't understand the appeal of My Space. I'm probably the only person in my school that doesn't have one.

    Thats what people use it. Cuz everyone else does. Gives them something to do on the internet. I dunno.

    LiveJournal is still 10 times better, but it's much more private (at least for me). I only add people I don't know in real life on there, and try to only add people I know I can relate to well on there (specific reasons why that is, to call it a "secretive and private" journal is an understatement). I've met a lot of great people on there though.

    However, MySpace is the ultimate way to meet new people, due to the sheer volume of people on there, the accesibility of everyone's profiles, and the fact that it's not anonymous, and it's harder to fake something and get away with it on there than on most sites. I've met some people that I can truly call some of my greatest friends on there (and LJ). Many of them live down in Florida, out in California, many in Michigan (for some reason Florida and Michigan have the highest number of people I regularly talk to over the internet), even as far as Britain, Russia, Germany, Japan, and Australia. That's the great thing about the internet, and specifically websites with millions of users - you can meet anyone, anywhere, and really get to know people from other places with other different ways of living, some from completely different cultures. I've met people that have never been to New York, and can't even fathom something of its size, and ask me what it's like to live 60 miles away from the city. That's something I'd never get by talking to people in Trumbull, CT. I hate distance and geographical boundaries (and all other boundaries for that matter). There's millions and millions of people out there, why confine yourself to a certain area, to a certain population in a certain location? I've found many people that I can relate to better than anyone I can where I live. I know so many people, especially older people that never grew up with the internet and still haven't really connected with it (so basically, none of you, considering this is an internet forum and all), that criticize the internet and think it's evil and have wrecked the lives of my generation. To me, it's done the exact opposite - instead of having little communities and societies in certain, confined areas, and knowing only people that live around you, we're connecting with people from all over the world, and making a global community, and expanding horizons. Instead of just being able to search a certain area for people like you, with common bonds, we now have millions of people out there. Considering right now MySpace is the biggest (and probably best ever) website for meeting new people, it's really great.

    I just signed up on myspace.com. I found it interesting, and better than livejournal, deadjournal, or friendster. Yeah, i've found some freaks, but you can always ignore them when they send you a msg.

    To be truthful, I signed up for MySpace to get access to some cheerleader at our school's pictures, which I heard included multiple bikini shots. I hadn't heard about MySpace until that, and I needed to sign up to get access to the "View More Pics" section. Of course, by the time I had made a profile, I had just about forgotten about her pictures, but I did remember, and was not disappointed.

    But then I quickly became addicted, and the bikini shots of random cheerleader #1 soon became an afterthought (but now I feel the need to go back and see if she has new ones ). Signing up for MySpace was a good move, if I must say so myself.

    That's what happened with myspace for me. I think the last time I was in there was like a month ago. After I started using LJ, even xanga has become like a once-a-month entry kinda thing. There's just too many of these profile thingees floating around for me to keep up with.

    Myspace is tight. I'm hooked on that. Soo much more too it plus ya meet new people.

    As for the parents who won't let their kids have one. Get a clue. Predators ain't on myspace cuz you can't fake a profile on there without it being obvious. Predators hang out in chat rooms where they can hide themselevs better. As far as giving out info like age and all that, who cares. You do that in the real world. You gonna follow your kids to school everyday to make sure they don't get with the wrong crowd? Theres harldy anyone over the age of 25 on there so quit taking your kids fun away from them. You're paranoid over something you know nothing about.
