Well said. A few years ago, my daughter had a friend who, upon getting her drivers license, actually scanned the license and posted it in her LiveJournal!Originally Posted by krystl

I also can't believe how many articles I've read recently that talk about people getting fired from their jobs for things they've posted in their "private" online journals.
Nothing is private on the internet is right!
See...that's just stupid, I'm sorry but it is.Originally Posted by LDG

I have a question for myspace users. How do you post a picture on the comments section?

You have to use HTML. It might be <img src="url of image"> but I'm not sure on that.Originally Posted by HouseThatRingsBuild

You are correct.

I'm bumping this up, because I figured someone here might know.
How can I get video clip of a Yankees play on my profile? Like a clip of a HR or something?
I've seen it done before, I just can't find who's done it anymore.

There are some external sites that host videos(like music videos or those sports videos), I'd suggest finding one of those, and they'll have the html code that you need to just copy and paste into your profile.Originally Posted by __starr69

Oh..my girlfriend created a (my)space for me. It has random things about my day and pictures of me and my girlfriend. Some Yankee talk and pics too.
I read a story in Newsday today about some rocket scientist 17 year old from Nesconset that decided to make a "who do you hate" section of his my space. The snarky little bastards are sure having a good time with that.
What a waste of bandwidth sites like this are. That sort of thing is just inevitable. It's not bad enough that little bastards have to be bullies, now they have a larger avenue to hurt people.

I've never encountered that with anyone from my high school. Then again I only talk to people that I know. Otherwise I'm on pretty good terms with anyone, I think. How about that girl who wants to stab "Alex something" in the eye with a really hot french fry? That's pretty serious, just shows how immature some people really are; her and that Alex kid, because she's not saying that just because he's a good little boy.Originally Posted by Trish

I don't get the hate some of you have for Myspace......it's a website. I have one, a lot of people I went to high school have one, and I actually started talking to some of my old friends again because I found them on Myspace. I really don't get why some of you don't like websites like Myspace and Livejournal.

Yea, I have a huge "What I hate" section on my MySpace. I don't mention specific names from my school, considering 95% of my friends list would have no idea who they are, and plus, I'd probably get beaten by all of them in a group in school. But I do imply that I hate certain people, and specifically mention certain types of people that I can't stand (I definitely imply I hate the majority of my school though - I even have Trumbull High listed as one of my hates, saying how I can't stand it there).Originally Posted by NYYBombshell

As for MySpace, it's one of the greatest sites out there (and so is LiveJournal). Some of the people I talk to most are people I've met on MySpace/LiveJournal (many of them I haven't even met in person - yet it still seems like we've been friends in person for a long time). Hell, just about all of the people I relate to most I've met on LiveJournal (considering LJ is a little more personal and more anynomous until you talk to the person directly, you tend to find peope you can really relate to well on there - although I have met a few people I relate to well on MySpace too). These sites are really good for getting to meet people, especially from areas far away from you.

Well, I think that anyone who has to hide behind a computer screen and bully people is pathetic.
How immature...
It's one thing to have a "Things I hate" section, but it's entirely different to name names.
I'm really sorry that my kids may have to go through this some day. The internet is a wonderful thing

Don't get me wrong, I didn't go to high school in a bubble. There were cliques, and I didn't belong to the "popular" group and frankly didn't want to, because I had nothing in common with them.
I just did my thing and let them do their thing, and I got through high school without being on anyone's list.

The ingenious thing about myspace is that you can really write anything, and no ones gonna stop you. I guess for some people, it allows them to vent, get out their agression if you will, instead of going up and shooting the school.Originally Posted by Trish

A big problem with that website is that (from what I understand), there's only one person answering all the emails (technical, abuse, etc), and there are a lot of people emailing him daily. And he also has to fix all the technical bugs and whatnot with that site. So it could take a while before you get a response for it.

That's what I do too. I told my daughter no pictures are to be posted and that she has to make sure her friends don't post pics of her or our family either. I know one of her friends had pics of her which were removed, so I guess she's listening. Also, no cell phone or home phone numbers.Originally Posted by Trish

I have a question. Why would you spend so much time an effort making a public statement about people you hate? If you hate them, they shouldn't be worth the time or effort to make a big stink about it. I hated 95% of my preppy stuck up school but I never gave a sh*t about them or cared what they thought. The only energy I wasted on them was raising a finger. And maybe an occasion "go f*ck yourself".Originally Posted by NYYRules#1
When you graduate you won't think about or care about any of them. They'll go about their lives and you'll go about yours. Trust me, they ain't worth even mentioning. I'm sure whoever is seeing the things you're writing is having a nice little chuckle and a certain degree of satisfaction with how much they get to you. Don't give it to them. You seem like a pretty unique individual who has no interest in being like everyone else. Part of that is not caring about those who do spend their lives trying to "fit in" and trying so hard to make it known you are like that can be considered part of the realm we call a "poser".
