This is a story about a Red Sox fan who fell into a coma a few days before the Playoffs, and when he woke up he found out that they won the Series. Interesting story.

As for the guy, amazing story, he is lucky to be alive, and he is expected to fully recover, which is the important thing, but that still must suck.
And the lord said "Go Sox"
I went in for surgery the morning of Game 7 of the 2004 ALCS. Imagine my horror when I was slightly lucid enough to turn on the TV in my hospital bed at around 10pm.
I'm kinda still hoping this has all been a bad dream and I'm gonna awaken from the surgery and flip on the TV to see the Yankees up by 8 or 9 runs.
If I had 3 wishes... One of my wishes would be to make a select few of you Pirates Fans.
Well, in the offseason the only baseball he will talk about is the Sox.can this guy right about anything except boston sports
Its the NFL playoffs, and the Pats are the talk of the league, so he will talk about New England.
If you want his non Boston columns (from december-march), read his nba stuff. Its his best work, and is usually not about the Celtics.

It's pretty amazing that this guy suffered such a tramatic brain injury and is expected to make a full recovery. A lot of people who suffer injuries like that might be able to leave the hospital but are never the same. So with that in mind I think this is very worthy of a story. In my mind the Red Sox connection is almost secondary.

I know this is a little off topic, but I'll never forget Boston Mayor Menino's words, after the Yanks went up 3-0. I heard the quote on WEEI and it went something like this: "Like a cookie, the Yankee dynasty will crumble ... especially delicious for Red Sox fans."
It was very funny, at the time.

At least he didn't find out it was all a prank a la Drew Barrymore in "50 First Dates."Originally Posted by Evil Empire
