Julie's Boys are going to win in a Romp! 35-17. They're tough and a lot of folks are forgetting about them.

My vote was the first for the Jets. I'm a Giants fan, but I saw alot of Jets games this year, my roommate is a Jets fan, and they are alot better than a 10-6. They'll win this weekend, and then fall to the Pats or Steelers in a close game.

Flutie didn't look too bad today as backup...and Rivers wasn't bad either at third-string!

I don't think you have anything to worry about here Julie.

Although, I did hear that the Jets drew up a new offensive play for the game next week.

No, wait... that wasn't the Jets.

No, wait... that wasn't the Jets.
They did, John! It's called "Curtis Martin tries the right side."

I'm going with my Jets, as I have in every official prediction in a game since I was born.

Seriously, I think the Jets have a very good shot to compete and win. They beat the Chargers earlier in the season in San Diego (though, granted, it was a different Chargers team), and I think they can beat them again. It's not going to be easy by any means, and I'm not looking forward to whoever they play the next week if they do win, but I think the Jets have a solid shot in this one.

They've got "a very good shot to compete", do they? Technically, doesn't every team have a shot to compete? Reminds me of this Dave McGinnis classic after the Cards' whopping 9-6 win over my 'Boys (good grief, was that a dark day):

of course I picked the Jets too...how can I go against my own team??

do I think they will win?? I dont know.....Im not fully confident although I feel much better about this matchup then if we had to play Indy (seeing how badly Bulger torched our secondary just imagine what Peyton would have done
    )

I think the defense will rebound in this one....they have done a great job all year of stopping the run and I expect them to hold down LT....they will make Brees beat them, which he certainly can do....obviously Gates must be the focus of the secondary

we did put up 34 points on SD in Week 2...I'd be ecstatic if we can put 24 in this game....Chad is gonna have to step up and win this game because I expect SD to contain Martin

the best thing about this game being on Sat night....is I will be at Jillian's out on LI with friends watching this...so if they lose I can get drunk and totally forget about it (at least for the night )

I'm going with my heart Jets 23 Chargers 20

wow...well cut the guy some slack the Cards didnt win too many games with him as their coach...I can just picture McGinnis sitting awake in his bed at like 3am....reciting that speech over and over again....hoping that one day he could use it

I hope for the Jets fans here they win, but I'm going with the Chargers 21-10.

I do love Curtis Martin, always have. Great football player, and by all accounts great human being too!

Objectively, you have to go with SD.

The Jets backed into the playoffs. SD is playing good football right now.

Sorry if we aren't all up drinking till 5:35. I'm up for a $10 bet. I'll add $10 to my Fantasy Baseball fee if the Jets lose, you add $10 to yours if the Chargers lose. Since it's the FBB fee, it's obviously to Jim. No spread or anything-straight up W or L. I assume you're up for that?

I pick the San Diego Super Chargers at this game. The Chargers have been red hot and the Jets are falling apart. If the Jets don't shut down Ladainian Tomlinson, the Jets will be in a long, long game.

I see absolutely no reason why I should believe that the Jets will win this game. The Jets have a slightly better defense than the Chargers (possibly) while the Chargers have a MUCH better offense than the Jets and I won't even get into the difference between coaching staffs.

edit: And the way the Jets defense has played the last 2 games, the Chargers defense might be better. Their secondary surely is. The good news is that John Abraham is probable to play and he is really going to help out the pass rush.

Even though you have openly rooted against my Big Blue I will stick the Chargers this week.

Jets lose, but keep it close. I'll take the points if the line moves to over a touchdown (currently 6.5).

As long as Chad Pennington keeps throwing lollypops, I gotta take the opposition. Curtis Martin needs 150 yards and 2 scores if the Jets want to pull off the upset.

I don't even think that would do it. Chad needs to be able to throw the freaking ball like he did against Seattle for us to win.

Speaking of coaching staffs, you knowthat Schottenheimer is 5-11 all time in the playoffs right? What if he reverts to "Martyball?" We got a better o-line too. F that, we're taking these bolts out. And their 31st ranked pass defense. They will miss Rodney Harrison in this game.

Chargers are 17-11 vs the Jets all time, so maybe we don't own them. But this week, we will. Your boy Brees will be on his ass all game. And, the first game this year was not tight as the score was, you guys didn't even make it close until Flutie came in the game, and where is he at right now?

That works in our favor. I like our running game a lot better than theirs, our offensive line is better and we have two top notch running backs. Donnie Edwards can't handle Lamont Jordan and Curtis...he's the rushing champ. We got this.

Going against their 3-4 defense scares me as we usually have trouble running against that type of defense. Rain also means that J. Abraham most likely won't play. By the way, f*ck John Abraham. He obviously cares more about himself than the team.

Without my rose-colored glasses on, I'd say the Chargers. But I'm putting them on, and voting for the

    J-E-T-S! JETS! JETS! JETS!

Curtis Martin will rush for 150 yards. Believe it, baby. This is a team of

What happened with Abraham? What did I miss? I always thought he was soft, but what happened now?

Woody Paige of ESPN was asked how the Jets can pull off this win in San Diego....his response, "They'll have to tie up Drew Brees on the way in from the parking lot."

Woody Paige? Who the hell is that? Don't tell me you actually laughed at that. It's third grade humor. And if you think Drew Brees is going to beat us you are crazy. He's one bad game away from the bench.

Enough of this Charger ballwashing from the press, it's like they are the 85 Bears. The Jets will beat the Media Darlings in the rain, 27-20.

He's said some things that makes it seem he doesn't want to risk an injury on his knee since this is his FA year. And that he'd rather not play in the game than take that risk. If he plays, then fine. But, if he doesn't, f*ck him. He has to play in this game. My guess is he also is not happy with the fact that he might be franchised.

He does Around the Horn and Cold Pizza. He always says stuff like that and doesn't really know what he's talking about.

Looking at the Chargers schedule, it's been incredibly soft and they haven't beaten anyone impressive. Of course, you can argue that the Jets haven't either.

edit: By the way, does anybody know what time this game starts exactly? I've heard both 8 PM and 8:30 PM, so I'm guessing it's sometime in the middle. The reason I ask is I had dinner plans with some family and friends and I made them change the time to 6 PM because of this game. But, we will need to hurry it up depending on the start of the game so I can make it to the sportsbar in time.

Yeah. Bradway's starting to look smarter every day for signing Ellis to that deal. I still can't get over Abraham taking himself out the Raider game with the flu.
